John M. Brach

Visitation for John M. Brach, 85, of Lombard, will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 7, from the funeral home to St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Assumption Cemetery.
Mr. Brach was the husband of L. Frances Brach; father of Mari (Jim) Payton, Bonnie (Carl) Janssens, Nanci (Bill) Greene, Su (Ed) Garvey and Lisa (Bruce) Gosen; grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of 12; brother of Raymond (the late Joyce, Carol) Brach and the late Bessie (the late John) Shubat; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. 
Mr. Brach and his wife were founding members of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard.

Frank Dalton

Frank Dalton, 53, of Lombard, died Saturday, Feb. 1, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, at St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, 547 N. Main St., Lombard. Interment is at a later date at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Dalton is survived by his siblings, Scott (Char) of Lombard, Mike (Debbie) of Lombard and Kim (Jon) Meyer; four nieces and nephews; and his aunts and uncles, Pat Lewis, Bob (Cheryl) Mack and Ed (Lynn) Mack.
Mr. Dalton was a resident of Lombard for 38 years, since 1976.  He had worked at Montini High School for the last five years.  Mr. Dalton was a member of St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church.

John DeLaurie

John DeLaurie, 86, of Lombard, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 31.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Mr. DeLaurie is survived by his wife; Lillian DeLaurie; children, Joseph DeLaurie, Dorice DeLaurie, John and Nancy DeLaurie Jr., Angela and Michael Skala, Gabriel and Lori DeLaurie, Anthony DeLaurie and Regina March; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sandra Hoppe, Richetta Lewis, Sally Perrone and Joseph Cuttone. He was preceded in death by his brother; Carl Cuttone.
Born in 1928, Mr. DeLaurie attended Proviso High School before serving in the U.S. Army. He fought in the Korean War for which he received four Bronze Stars, a U.N. Service Medal and a Korean War Service Medal for his time in service. A dedicated and beloved postal worker in Elmhurst for 35 years, he acquired many close friendships with the people he served along his routes.
Mr. DeLaurie devoted much of his time to helping others and supporting the many people that came into his life and was featured in the Lombardian newspaper’s “Someone You Should Know,” which highlighted his many qualities as a caring member of the community. He enjoyed fishing at Williams Bay, Lake Geneva, and being with his grandchildren.

Ann Marks

Ann M. Marks, nee Kroll, 99, of Lexington Square, Lombard, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 3, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church, Lombard. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
Mrs. Marks is survived by her daughter-in-law, June; two grandchildren; twin sister, Felicia Steinbach; sister, Stella (Thad) Opal; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; sons, Ronald and Walter Jr.; siblings, Josephine Kroll, Sophia (the late Frank) Binder, Stephen and Joseph (the late Ann) Kroll; brother-in-law, Harold Steinbach; and parents, Joseph and Anna Kroll.
Mrs. Marks was a member of the Broadview Senior Citizens Group.  She was a very charitable lady.

Anthony P. Nauer

Anthony P. Nauer, age 95, passed away Jan. 29, 2014. Formerly of Lansing, Ill., for 35 years and of Lombard, Ill., for the past four years.
He was a World War II veteran from 1941-45. Loving husband of Margaret, nee Markey; beloved father of the late James P. (Cynthia), Sherry (Ed) Kairis and Camille (Patrick) Graver; cherished grandfather of James A. Scott (Shalom), Maureen (Keith), Julie (Chris), Patricia (Marc) and Kathleen; great grandfather of seven. Preceded in death by his brother, William. 
A funeral Mass was held Monday, Feb. 3, at Christ the King Church, 1501 S. Main St., Lombard, Ill. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Robert V. Velasquez

Robert V. Velasquez, 56, of Villa Park, died Saturday, Feb. 1, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services are being held today, Feb 5, at St. Alexander Church, in Villa Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Velasquez was the father of Justin and Danielle Velasquez; stepfather of Kevin and Christopher Lynch; son of Robert S. and the late Dolly Velasquez; spouse of Laura Velasquez; brother of Robin (Al) Huerta, Linda (Ismet) Sisen and Zita (Marty) Badrov; and uncle of many.
