Ronald E. Kostro

Funeral services for Ronald E. Kostro, age 72, were held Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Autism Society of Illinois are appreciated.

Sandra Kuester

Sandra Kuester, nee Koch, of Lombard. Beloved wife of Gordon Kuester; loving mother of Karen Naomi (Stephen Anderson) Kuester, Linda Gail Kuester, the late Denise Kuester, and the late Diane Kuester; fond sister of Dolores (Donald) Kaiser.
Sandra graduated York High School in 1959 and was active in choir and modern dance. A longtime employee of the Portillo Company as a training manager.

Gary Ohlin

Gary Ohlin, age 70, of Lombard, died Nov. 22, 2014. He was born Aug. 8, 1944, to Cardinell and Genevieve Ohlin in Oak Park, Ill. He graduated from Willowbrook H.S., and was a member of the Aerodynamic Model Association and instructor. Gary was a plumber for 35 years in DuPage County.
He is survived by his sisters, Joyce (Wayne) Leslie, Jeanette (Thomas) O’Toole, Christine M. (Charles) Butcher; nieces and nephews, Maggie Benes, Kate Stumbaugh, Emily Rose Ilic, Violet Joyce Butcher, Therese O’Toole, John O’Toole, Gary O’Toole, Patrick O’Toole; his grand-nephews, Brandon Stumbaugh, Ryan Stumbaugh, Lukea Ilic, Nicky Ilic and Leo Ilic.
Services were held at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St., Geneva, IL 60134. Contributions may be made to Smile Train.

Winifred Perkins

Winifred “Wynne” L. Perkins, nee Gecan, age 98, of Lombard.

Michael J. Turay

Michael J. Turay, age 93, World War II Army Veteran, of Lombard, died peacefully on Nov. 17.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 20, from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church, Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.
Mr. Turay is survived by his daughter, Shirley A. (David W. Kartuska) Grimsley; four grandchildren, Lennie (Maureen) Grimsley, Michael R. Turay, Tina (Tony) Ingraffia and Marisa (Dominic) Zeffiro; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Turay is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Bertha E., nee Nych; two sons, Michael R. and James R.; and nine brothers and sisters.
One of the youngest of 10 children, Michael was born in Crivitz, Wis. He was raised on a farm where he learned the values of hard work and family. As a World War II Veteran, Michael served in the European theater, Normandy, Omaha Beach, Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne and others, being awarded five (5) Bronze Stars and other medals. He was a member of St. Pius X Church since 1956.
