Helen Sylver Black

Helen Sylver Black, nee Stilwell, 97, of Lombard, formerly of Elmhurst, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Beacon Hill Healthcare Center.
A private graveside service will be held at Violet Cemetery in Goshen, Ind.
Mrs. Black is survived by her daughter, Karen (Paul) Floyd; son, David (Marcia); four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, whom she married on Oct. 4, 1940; and brother, Condon Stilwell.
Helen was born May 12, 1917, in Milford, Ind., to Wilma and Burton Stilwell. She grew up in Nappanee, Ind. After completing high school, she entered Stephens College, earning an associate degree. She then completed her bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University in Evanston.
Mrs. Black devoted her life to her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Angelo J. Boffa

Funeral services for Angelo J. Boffa, 87, of Lombard, were held Monday, Oct. 6, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Boffa was the husband of the late Barbara; father of Angela (the late Gary) Young, James (Marisa) Boffa and Stacy (Frank) Fontana; grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of one; brother of the late Frank (the late Leona) Boffa, the late Carmella Bromley, the late Violet (the late Frank) Alaimo, the late Josephine (the late Santo) Sperando and the late Elizabeth (the late Windy) Cozzi; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Anthony W. Bujak

Anthony W. Bujak, of Villa Park, formerly of the Northwest Side of Chicago, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Villa Park.
Interment was private.
Mr. Bujak is survived by his daughter, Eliza Lizars; one granddaughter; mother, Zona C. Bujak; sister, Robin (Tony) Maro; and two brothers, Jay Bujak and Timothy (Lisa) Bujak. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo W. Bujak.
Mr. Bujak was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a cabinet maker for over 20 years.

Robert J. Capparelli

Robert J. Capparelli, 56, of Roseville, Calif., formerly of Lombard, passed away on Thursday, Sept 11.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., Oct. 11, from 10:00-2:30 at Arrowhead Golf Club, 26W151 Butterfield Road, Wheaton. A tribute to “Bobby” will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by visitation with the family.

Shane D. Gunsteen

Shane D. Gunsteen, 45, of Lombard, died Friday, Oct. 3, in Lombard.
Mr. Gunsteen is survived by his wife, Elisabeth S.; daughter, Emily; parents, Dennis and Sally; sister, Jill; brother, Neil (Erin); and a niece and two nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Gunsteen was a resident of Lombard for 11 years. He graduated from Glenbard West High School. He loved animals and worked at Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove.

Eileen B. Mark

Eileen B. Mark, nee Rodell, 93, of Lombard, formerly of La Grange, died Monday, Sept. 29, at Beacon Hill, Lombard.
A memorial visitation and Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 13, at Christ the King Church, Lombard. Interment is private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mrs. Mark is survived by her son, James (Donna); daughters, Lynn (Allan) Czapski and Kathleen (Frank) Waterstraat; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Jane) Rodell; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; great-grandson; two brothers, and her sister.
Mrs. Mark was a 25-year retired employee of La Grange Memorial Hospital. She started the Rosary Club at Beacon Hill. Mrs. Mark was a member of Christ the King Church.

Anna Mae Puchalski

Anna Mae Puchalski, nee Potocsky, of Lombard, died Thursday, Oct. 2, in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct 6, at St. John the Apostle Church, Villa Park. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
Mrs. Puchalski was the wife of the late Edward; mother of Vanessa (Karl) Krynen, grandmother of three; sister of the late Wendel (Grace) and John (Bernice) Potocsky; and aunt of one niece.

Darlynn Szczepaniak

Darlynn Frances Szczepaniak, 80, of Lombard, Ill., passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, in Minneapolis, Minn. Darlynn joins Albert, her husband of 53 years, in heaven. Darlynn was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Estelle Trandel.
Darlynn is survived by her children, Michel-Jean, Kathryn (Jeff), Andrew (Sondra), Anthony (Jill) and Stacey. Darlynn was a loving grandmother to Megan, Rebecca, Adam, Allison, Connor, Samantha and Noah.
Darlynn, a longtime resident of Lombard, recently moved to Minneapolis to spend more time with her son Anthony and his family. Darlynn spent her life being a champion for causes such as environment and women's issues. Darlynn's thirst for knowledge culminated in graduating with honors from Elmhurst College in May of 1999.
Darlynn's love for adventure took her and her husband on trips to places near and far. She was especially excited about the trips to London and Thailand. Darlynn relaxed by tending to her gardens, playing Scrabble, crocheting and reading.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew's, 1555 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights, 60139 on Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.

Janice Williams

A memorial gathering for Janice R. Williams, nee Baker, 73, of Lombard, will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams was the mother of Jeff (Floriane) Green; grandmother of four; sister of Judith Uri; aunt of one; and great aunt of one.
