David W. Baehr

David W. Baehr, 60, of Lombard, died Friday, Sept. 5, at Central DuPage Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 8, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mr. Baehr is survived by his wife, Joanne; stepchildren: Marie, Kim, Jeff and Cheryl; one grandson; siblings, Marilyn (William) Seymore and Alan; and many nieces and nephews. He was a mentor to many.
Mr. Baehr was a lifelong resident of Lombard. He was the owner/operator of Swift Hauling. He was a graduate of Willowbrook High School.

Thomas D. Floyd Sr.

Funeral services for Thomas D. Floyd Sr., 89, of Plainfield, formerly of Lombard, were held Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mr. Floyd was the husband of Adrienne and the late Ruth; father of Thomas Jr. (Gina) Floyd and Susan (Mark) Mueller; stepfather of Robert (Kim) and Richard (Marie) Knes; grandfather of three; step-grandfather of two; brother of David James (Phyllis) Floyd; and uncle, relative, and friend of many.

Dorothy J. Kramer

Dorothy J. Kramer, 89, of Moline, Ill., died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in her home.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is assisting Dorothy’s family.
The former Dorothy Jeannette Bryan was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Sidney, Ohio, to Stanley and Vida Staley Bryan. She married Clarence Kramer on Nov. 13, 1944, in Mountain Home, Idaho. He died Nov. 22, 1993.
Dorothy was a homemaker, and “the best mom ever.” She loved her family more than anything, adored her special puppy friend Oliver, and enjoyed quilting, the Garden Club, and penny slots at the casino.
Dorothy is survived by her 10 children and their spouses, Peter Kramer of Lombard, Ill., Michael and Kathy Kramer of Naperville, Ill., Kathy and Jean Michel Attlan of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., Christine and Paul Lindsey of Las Vegas, Nev., Charlene Lowell of Raleigh, N.C., Steve and Cory Kramer of Aurora, Ill., Andrea and Mark Olberts of Rock Island, Ill., Marcia and Ronald Bergstrand of East Moline, Ill., Maria and Bob Lance of Moline, and John Paul and Susan Kramer of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Taylor of Cape Coral, Fla.; and a brother, William Bryan of Hilton Head, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; a son-in-law, Tom Lowell; and four brothers.

Gloria C. Laudani

Visitation and funeral services for Gloria C. Laudani, nee Zanni, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Lombard, are being held today, Sept 10, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, Interment is at Assumption Cemetery.
Mrs. Laudani was the wife of the late Salvatore G. Laudani; daughter of the late Michael E. and Mary Zanni; mother of Rosemary Laudani; and aunt of Kevin Zanni, Ronaldo Uliano and Emil Uliano and their families. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Laudani was a cashier at Jewel Food Stores, a hairdresser for many years and member of Christ the King in Lombard, and Church of the Little Flower in Springfield. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and Diocese CCW Board, former Girl Scout leader, member of the PTA and active at church. She also enjoyed music and cooking.

Glenn Lawrence

Glenn Lawrence, 79, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 1, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
A memorial gathering was held Saturday, Sept. 6, with a Masonic Service at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Betty R.; children, Michael (Sabrina), Raymond (Krista), Charles (Joy), Steven (Patty) and Susan (Steven) Adams; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Arlene. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
Mr. Lawrence grew up in Chicago and resided in Lombard for 54 years. He graduated from Tilden Tech High School in 1954. He was a member of the Bensenville Masonic Lodge #1159. He was a Worthy Patron twice. He was also a member of the DuPage Knights and Knight Templar. Mr. Lawrence retired from Cass Logistics and Spector Freight. He was a member of IBT Local.

Ruth L. Metz-White

Ruth L. Metz-White, 91, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Elgin and Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 4, at Alden Valley Ridge.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Metz-White is survived by her son, Ted (Carol); sister, MaryAnn Springer; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Spencer F. Metz, Anthony White and her son, Roy E. Metz.
Mrs. Metz-White moved from Berwyn to Lombard in 1957. She was a valued employee of Quality Check’d Dairy Products for many years before she retired. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She will be missed by family and friends.

Patsy Ann Scalzitti

Patsy Ann Scalzitti, 66, of Villa Park, died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 30, at Loyola Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 3, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Ms. Scalzitti is survived by her cousins, Rita (Brian) Darovic, Linda (Douglas) Wallin and Diane Casaccio and their seven children; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Patsy; her sister, Luciette; and one cousin.
Ms. Scalzitti lived in Villa Park since 1952. Her parents were charter members of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She attended St. Pius X Grade School. She, too, was a very active member of St. Pius X. She graduated from St. Francis High School in Wheaton. She retired from the state of Illinois as a receptionist. She loved photography and won several awards. She was a member of a local camera club. She enjoyed playing the organ and occasionally played the organ for St. Pius X Church.

Ruanne Marie Vasquez

Ruanne Marie Vasquez, nee Calvillo, 60, of Glendale Heights, died on Monday, Sept. 1, at her home after a courageous five-and-a-half-year battle with lung cancer. Mrs. Vasquez had never smoked a cigarette in her life.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept 8, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Glendale Hts. Entombment was at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
Mrs. Vasquez was the wife and best friend of John Z. Vasquez; mom to Alyssa; daughter of Ruben and the late Anna Calvillo; and sister to Annette (the late Michael) Weihman. She was preceded in death by her Auntie Lupita Calderon; and was a devoted aunt, cousin and niece to many.
She was an inspiration and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ruanne worked in sales for over 30 years primarily in the title insurance industry. Her contagious laughter and smile enveloped the room whether at work or at home.
