Mardelle Andrle

Mardelle Andrle, nee Mulhall, 88, of Lombard, died Friday, Sept. 19.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Sacred Heart Church, Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mrs. Andrle wife of Raymond for 55 years; mother of Michele (Paul) Casey; grammie of Katherine (fiancé Stephen Condon); and aunt and devoted friend.
Mrs. Andrle was born on July 5, 1926, to Augusta and Thomas Mulhall in Chicago. The Andrles moved to Lombard in 1964 where Mardelle resided up until 2012, before moving to Westmont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westmont. Raymond joined her at Westmont in October 2012.
Mrs. Andrle was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Lombard since 1964, where she was active as a eucharistic minister. She also volunteered many hours at Pleasant Lane Elementary School in Lombard, where her daughter Michele attended.

Robert W. Hertz

Robert W. Hertz, 84, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19, at Lombard Bible Church in Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Hertz is survived by his wife, Mary M.; children, Thomas (Diane), James (Paula), Robert (Alison), Timothy (Michelle), William (Laura) and Marjorie (Fred) Nelson; daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Rick) Watkins; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and was the uncle and great-uncle of many. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; grandson, Charlie; and brother, Paul.
Mr. Hertz had been a resident of Lombard for 77 years. He was a member of Lombard Bible Church and was a former scout leader.

Dolores J. Gilio

Dolores J. Gilio, 81, of Villa Park, died Friday, Sept. 19, in Downers Grove.
Visitation and funeral services are Sunday, Sept 28, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is private.
Ms. Gilio was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Gilio; sister of twin Gloria, Marie LaCassa and Lorraine Ciorleri; and aunt of many.

Marion Holle

Marion L. Holle, 89, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Lexington Health Care Center, Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lombard. Interment was private at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Ms. Holle is survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Holle of Lombard; nephew, Mark (Darlene) Holle; niece, Nancy (Kevin) Herbert; three great-nieces and -nephews; and many friends, including Dorothe (Bud) Massman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Louise F. Holle; and brother, Roy Holle.
Ms. Holle was the granddaughter of William Zabel, one of the early settlers of Lombard who built many of the early homes here. She was a 1943 graduate of Glenbard Township High School and had worked for Marsh McLennan for 47 years in Chicago, retiring in 1990. She was a very active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard, and was a member of the Lombard Historical Society.

Eleanor S. Morgan

Eleanor S. Morgan (1922-2014) was born in Addison Township, Ill., to the late Fryer and Henrietta Marwood. She was a resident of Lombard for many years. Eleanor went to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Morgan. She is survived by her children: Sandy, Shirley, Linda, Jim, Gayle, Tom, and Jan; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was a retired waitress. She never knew a stranger and loved being “everyone’s” Grandma.
Graveside services will be held at Oakhill/Oakcrest Cemetery, in Downers Grove at 10 a.m. on Oct. 2. Entry is at the Glenview gate.

Mary Ellen Reynolds

Mary Ellen Reynolds, nee Murphy, 91, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 22 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield.

Geraldine J. Rothenburger

Geraldine J. “Geri” Rothenburger, nee Dieterle 79, of Villa Park, died Friday, Sept. 19, in Villa Park.
A memorial visitation and service will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is private.
Mrs. Rothenburger was the wife of William; mother of Rebecca (Dino) Apuzzo, the late Timothy (Pattie) and Colleen Rothenburger; grandmother of five; great-grandmother of two; sister of Allen, Delvin Dieterle and the late Dolores and Charles Dieterle; and aunt of many.

Erin Elena Wick

Visitation for Erin Elena Wick, 17, will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Prayers will be held Friday, Sept. 26, from the funeral home to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, Lombard. Entombment is at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
Erin was the daughter of John and Susan Wick; sister of Megan Wick; granddaughter of Lorraine and the late John Wick, and Helen and the late Carl Smotrys; niece of Louis Smotrys, Larry Smotrys, Joan (Jim) Opoka, Mary Anne (Phil) Jackson, Joe (Paula) Wick and Anne (Charles) Smith; and cousin of many. Erin was so loved and cared for by the staff of Marklund Children’s Home, especially Kim.
