Lois J. Anderson

Lois J. Anderson, 87, of Lombard, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Renee Anderson (Clark Chrisman, husband); son, Wayne Anderson; and three grandchildren: Keith Chrisman, Janelle Chrisman and Samantha Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Anderson; and her parents, Harvey and Gertrude Wegner.
Lois was born in Chicago and attended Foreman High School. She was a graduate of the Patricia Stevens Modeling School.
She married George Anderson on April 16, 1955. Lois worked for Commonwealth Edison, Andes Candies, Eastgate Restaurant and retired from Jewel/Osco of Lombard.
Lois loved dancing to the big band music of the 30s and 40s at the Aragon Ballroom. After retirement, she took square dancing classes with her husband. She enjoyed vacations with grandchildren in Lake Geneva and taking them to preschool or to the neighborhood park. She also spent many hours taking care of aging parents and other relatives. She loved to cook for family gatherings and frequently took meals to loved ones.
Lois was a big fan of Clark Gable and his movies. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed the sport into her early retirement years. Lois was also a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Lombard. She lived in Lombard since the early 1950s.
Visitation is at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, on Thursday, April 16, from 3-8 p.m.

Evelyn M. Finkler

Evelyn M. Finkler, 93, of Villa Park, Ill., beloved wife of the late Robert C., loving mother of William R. ( Nancy J.) Finkler, Robert J. (Dawn M.) Finkler, and Janet M. (Richard M.) Marshall; dear grandmother of Bill and Laura Finkler, Steven Finkler, Michelle Finkler (Nima Hormozian), Carolyn, Melissa, Kristen, Kevin and Amanda Marshall; great grandmother of Cameron, Brady and Knox.

Berenice P. Geist

Berenice P. Geist, nee Puljanowski, age 97, formerly of Lombard for 25 years, died Sunday, April 12, at Arden Courts, Naperville, Ill.
Visitation will be held today, April 15, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral Service is Thursday, April 16, with prayers at 9:45 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home to St. Matthew Church, Glendale Heights, for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment is at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Ill.

Robert A. Heise

Robert A. Heise, age 59, of Lombard, died April 12 at his home.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, from 3-9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 17, with prayers at 9:15 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church, Lombard, for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, Ill.
Mr. Heise is survived by his wife, Paula S., nee Maas; three sons, Robert, Jr. of Elmhurst, Daniel of Oakland, Calif., and Matthew (Emily) of La Grange; two grandsons, Nolan and Douglas; his father, Eugene; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Heise is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, nee Laughlin.
Mr. Heise was a lifelong resident of Lombard and a graduate of Glenbard East High School. He was a member of the Maywood Sportsman’s Club. Mr. Heise was a member of both the Lombard and DuPage County Citizens Police Academy. He had been a coach for the Lombard Little League. Mr. Heise had been a Cubscout Master. He co-started the Lombard Firebirds Soccer Club. He had been active with Indian Guides. Mr. Heise had been on the St. Pius X School Board.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute, 675 North St. Clair St., Suite 21-400, Chicago, IL 60611, would be appreciated.

Marie A. Lucado

Marie A. Lucado, age 83, of Lombard, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her home.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 14, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment followed at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.

Daniel T. Owczarski

Daniel T. Owczarski, 78, of Lombard. Beloved husband of Rita, nee Gierut; loving father of Danielle (Robert) Budig, Daniel (Mary) Owczarski, and Lara (Jennifer) Owczarski; devoted grandfather of Natalie, Jessica, Alison, and Kate; fond brother of Christine (Norbert) Bobrowski and Gregory (Joyce) Owczarski; uncle of Nicole (Mike), Douglas, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Stefanie.
Proud Veteran, Polish-American, and Baseball coach. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He loved to laugh and make people smile; and was warm-hearted, generous, and fiercely loyal. He instilled passion, hard-work and integrity into his family, friends, and players. He will be dearly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Ruth Joyce Pozesky

Ruth (Ruthie) Joyce Pozesky (nee Kolmodin), 84, passed away suddenly April 2, 2015. Born Feb.17, 1931, the second youngest of six, to Swedish immigrants Axel and Hilma Kolmodin. Ruth was proud and true to her Swedish heritage and this was reflected upon in her home, family and life.
As a young athletic woman, Ruth played basketball and continued her enjoyment of the sport as an avid, win or lose fan of the Chicago Bulls. She loved to swim and poolside lounging, soaking up the sun. She cherished her feline friends throughout her life and leaves behind Meisha, who misses her dearly.
Ruth dedicated many years of her life employed at the College of DuPage and enjoyed volunteering for theater productions at the College. Spending the majority of her life as a resident of Lombard, she participated in clubs and committees, including Lilac Days Coronation Parade activities. Ruthie was preceded in death by her longtime companion, William Wallace. She is survived by her brother Ray Kolmodin (Irene); daughters Lori (Skala) and Geri Scudder (Steve); a son Rick (Jill); her grandchildren Kyle and Tyler Scudder; and many nieces and nephews. A dear friend to many and loved by all, Ruthie will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 11, at Brust Funeral Home in Lombard with burial at Lockport Cemetery.
