Scott P. Koeller, 53, of Villa Park, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22.
A memorial Mass was held Monday, Dec. 28, at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park, Ill. Interment was private.

Lillian V. Polka
Lillian V. Polka, 94, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Lombard, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at the Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center, Des Moines, Iowa, following an extended illness.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. A private memorial service will be held at the First Church of Lombard, Ill., at a later date.
Lilly graduated from Morton Junior College, Cicero, Ill., in 1941 and from Northern Illinois State Teachers College, DeKalb, Ill., in 1943. She was an elementary school teacher in Lombard (DuPage County) School District 44 from 1944 through 1975. She was active in numerous organizations including Beta Sigma Phi, Lombard Historical Society and First Church of Lombard, leading their women’s craft committee for many years.
Lilly’s interests included sewing, knitting, reading, gardening, crafts and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Church of Lombard, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Lillian Vopenka; her husband of 64 years, James Polka; her sister, Mildred Griffith; and her brother, Anton Vopenka. She is survived by her children, Laurie (Craig) Byer of Coulterville, Calif., Jim (Becky) Miles-Polka of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sue Polka of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Andy (Amara) and Amy Vercnocke, Jim (Brittney) Polka, Hattie Miles-Polka, and Erin and PJ McDermott; and her great-grandchildren, Rowan, Kyrie and Anari Vercnocke, Frances McDermott and Charlotte Elliott.
