Karen A. Drago-Dragovich

Karen A. Drago-Dragovich, age 75, of Lombard, formerly of Three Lakes, Wis., passed away Thursday, Feb.19, 2015.
A visitation will take place Friday, Feb. 27, from 3-8 p.m. at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, Ill. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John Paul II Church in Mt. Olive. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Olive.

Raymond Jeske

Raymond Michael Jeske, age 90, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, Ill.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 23, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Barbara Johnson-Miller

Barbara S. Johnson-Miller, nee Bobisud, 66. Born in Chicago, moved to Glen Ellyn in 1960 and graduated from Glenbard West High School in 1966. Two years later she married Don Johnson. Later, in 2006, she met and married (the late) Kenneth L. Miller; loving mother of Amy (Pete) Retuerto and Adam (Laura) Johnson; devoted grandmother of Alyssa, Hannah, Matthew, and Juliana Retuerto, Jacob and Abigail Johnson; fond sister of Laura (Dave) Malesky and Dean Bobisud; aunt of Megan McDermott, Alexis, Randy and Ashley Bobisud. She loved her children and 6 grandchildren beyond belief.
Worked at Northern Illinois Gas Co. for 6 years. Volunteered at Hammerschmidt Elementary and worked part-time at Lombard Jr. High. Patient advocate for 13 years with Accredo Health Care. Member of St. John’s Lutheran Church for 30-plus years, and founding member of the Comfort Dog ministry through the church. She also volunteered at the Outreach House. Enjoyed gardening and being in nature.
Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 26, from 3-9 p.m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road (3 blocks south of Roosevelt Road), Lombard. In-State Friday, Feb. 27, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln St., Lombard, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment is at Wheaton Cemetery.

Bernice Louise Nixon

SILVER POINT, TN-Mrs. Bernice Louise Nixon (GeGe), beloved mother and “grandma” to everyone who knew her, age 90, of Silver Point, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at her residence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate.
She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Walter and Marie Crespin Wedel.
Mrs. Nixon was a longtime resident of Lombard, Ill., where she worked as a secretary in real estate and other businesses. She and her husband lived in Naples, Fla., for 18 years. She moved to Silver Point with her family in September of 2013.
She was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed playing card games and volunteering. She was a very active and vibrant lady prior to her sudden illness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert William Nixon.
She is survived by daughters, Bonnie (Stephen) Vokoun of Silver Point and Janet (Charles) Rice of Illinois; grandchildren, Curt Vokoun of Silver Point, Connie (Bill) Rake of Florida, Robert Rice and Christine Rice, both of Illinois; great-grandchildren, Kyle Rake, Stephen Vokoun, Tanner Vokoun, Priscilla Rice, Mason Rice and Maden Rice; three great grandchildren; and by sister, Ruth Halavity of Utah.
