Bernice Brust

Bernice Brust, nee Janowski, age 94, of Lombard, passed away July 4, 2015.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3- 9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Her funeral service will be Friday, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home to Christ the King Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will be at a later date at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood.
Mrs. Brust is survived by her children, Robert (Aida) Bonneau of Indiana, Marguerite (Frank Marcinkowski) of Palos Heights and O’Tillia Brust of Naperville; her son-in-law, Carl Stone; her stepchildren, Georgian (Tony) Talerico of Arizona and Gail (Gerry) Saternus of Orland Park; her daughter-in-law, Mary Brust of Stickney; and was the grandmother and great-grandmother of many.
Mrs. Brust is preceded in death by her husband, George; three children, Thomas Bonneau, Patricia Stone of Wisconsin and Richard Bonneau; four stepchildren, Eve Gaynor, Mickey Brust, John and the late George Jr.; her son-in law, Dennis Brust; and two brothers.
Mrs. Brust was born in Chicago and grew up in Wisconsin. She lived in Broadview for 25 years. Mrs. Brust resided in Lombard from 1998 until 2009. She was a former member of St. Eulalia in Maywood and Christ the King in Lombard.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.

William J. Downing

William J. Downing, age 75, of Lombard, died Monday, June 29, in Tennessee.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 3, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elmwood, Ill.

Catherine M. Glennon

Catherine M. Glennon, nee Coakley, age 82, of Lombard, formerly of Country Club Hills.
Beloved wife of the late James S. Glennon; loving mother of Jim (Lisa) Glennon, Mary Kay Knoll, Alice (Dan Bernacki) Glennon, Betty (Boze) Harz, Barbara (Bill) Ware, Bill (Amy) Glennon, John (Jeannine) Glennon, Patrick (Kathy) Glennon, and Tim (Denise) Glennon; devoted grandmother of Sean (Michelle), Kara and Brian (Kelly) Glennon, Kristin (Fiancé Brandon Davis) Gitchell, Melani (Patrick) Kane, Kurt Gitchell, Katie (fiancé Tim Vos) and the late Jeffrey Knoll, Johnny, Jason and Allie Eddington, George, Kelly (fiancé Jason Martens), and Bridget Straub, Meghan Ware, Nolan, Braden, Devin, Erin, Danielle, Jessica, Ryan, Amanda, Colin, Brendan, Conor, Mitchell, and Hailey Glennon; great-grandmother of Nora, Ryann, and Jace; fond sister of Betty Ann (Jack) Cody, Rev. John “Jack” Coakley S.J., and the late Mary Therese Muldoon and the late Patrick (Mernie) Coakley; sister-in-law of Judith Glennon and Tom (Joann) Glennon; cherished aunt of many.

Visitation is Thursday, July 9, 2-9 p.m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road (3 blocks south of Roosevelt) Lombard. Funeral is Friday, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church, Mass 10 a.m. Interment is at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Robert T. Lafferty

Robert T. Lafferty. Age 57. Found peace on June 16, 2015, due to assorted illnesses and a hard-fought battle with Dementia.
Bobby was born on July 30, 1957, to parents John P. and Betty J. Lafferty, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his Stepfather Sam; his Sister Gail (Andrew) Douvris; and Daughter Brianna; Brother John (Barbara) Lafferty; Niece Christine (Troy) Leis and their children Helene and Spencer. Beloved companion of Ev Keenon, also many cousins and close friends.
He grew up and lived in Villa Park until his passing. He loved being a DJ of the 50s and 60s music. He was a big fan of Elvis Presley. He liked being outdoors, playing baseball or just going for a walk.

Eleanor G. Piper

Eleanor G. Piper, 90, of Lombard since 1960, passed away Feb. 25, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Piper Sr.; and son-in-law, William C. Peterson. She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Peterson) and Robert M. Piper Jr.; grandchildren, Daniel, Carrie (Peterson), Dianna (Falkner), Robert (Amanda), Genevieve and Eric (Piper); and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Adan, Nathan (Falkner) and Alayna Peterson.

Rose I. Scalzo, nee Tagarella, of Lombard, passed away July 6, 2015, surrounded by her family.

Constance Shimkus

Constance Shimkus, 79, of Lombard, died July 6, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don, of 51 years; her parents, Harold and Marie; her sister, Kay (the late Bob); and brothers Gordon (the late Mary) and Bud (Carol).
She is survived by her children, Terri, Steve (Kate), Mary Beth, and Kim; her grandchildren, Danielle, David, Oliver, Jack, Eleanor, Miles, Bailey, and Marin; her sisters, Diane and Gail (Dale); her brothers, Bill and Bob; and many nieces and nephews.
Connie was a nurse for decades and devoted her life to serving others.
Visitation is today, July 8, from 4-8 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Connie's life.

Margaret “Betty” Tyminski, nee Rader, age 80, of Lombard, passed away July 3, with her husband, John “Bill,” of 61 years by her side.

Betty is survived by her husband, Bill; her 10 children, Kathy (Jim) Tom (Lori), Patty (Terry), John, Dianne, Steve (Cherisse), Joe (Kristin), Geri (Monte), Jackie (Bruce), and Robert; grandmother of 24; and great-grandmother of 8.
