Russell B. Stahmer

Russell B. “Buzz” Stahmer, age 83, lifelong resident of Lombard, passed away on March 22, 2015.
Visitation will be today, March 25, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Ill.
Mr. Stahmer is survived by his children, Patricia (Thomas) Gerloski of Carol Stream, Sandy (Richard) Zamrzla of Naperville and Susan (David) Salvesen of Naperville; his grandchildren, Lucas (Melissa) of Aurora, Daniel (Sari) of Naperville, Jeremy (Jessica) of Aurora, Heather of Carol Stream and Thomas J. of Carol Stream; his great-grandchildren, Paxton and Rowan; his sister-in-law, Florence Sayre of Florida; and his brother-in-law, Melvin (Andrea) of Sleepy Hollow.
Mr. Stahmer is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary H., nee Gauger.
Mr. Stahmer was born in Wheaton and moved to Lombard as an infant, where he lived his entire life. Mr. Stahmer graduated from Lincoln School and attended Glenbard West High School. He was married to his beloved wife, Rosemary, for 53 years. Mr. Stahmer was a master mechanic in Lombard. He worked first at Pure Oil Gas Station on Main Street and Parkside Street, then Union 76 on Main Street, and finally Roy’s Auto Repair on Willow Street, retiring in 1994. Mr. Stahmer was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a member of Moose Lodge in Lombard. He was the best dad ever!
