Alfred E. Cook

Alfred E. Cook, age 92, of Villa Park, died Feb. 27 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 6, from 4-8 p.m. at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park. Interment is rivate at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Ill.

Thomas J. Corrigan

Thomas J. Corrigan, age 84, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Lombard, died Saturday, Feb. 28, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, Ill.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Jeannette “Mickey” Corrigan, nee Hunt; loving father of Jen (Bill) Frank of California, Rose (Monty) Clark of Missouri and Tom (Robin) Corrigan of Lombard, Ill. He was the loving grandfather of Crystal and Diana Frank, Daniel and Josh Clark and Justin and Amber Corrigan.
Mr. Corrigan served as a Lombard mailman for over 30 years. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago White Sox fan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Funeral Tuesday, March 10, 9:15 a.m. prayers at the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment private.

Lyle E. Gascoigne

Lyle E. Gascoigne, age 67, of Lombard for 34 years, passed away at home Feb. 25.
A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, March 3, at Gary United Methodist Church 224 N. Main St., Wheaton, Ill.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Pam S. nee Haefner; three children, Tonya, Sean (Carrie) and Jeremy (Leanne), all of Lombard; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen (Don) Schaefer of Littleton, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Gascoigne loved his grandkids. He was a member of the Tebala Shriners.

David Elihu Gluskin

David Elihu Gluskin, born March 16, 1954, died Feb. 21, 2015, after a brief and unexpected illness.
David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his twin brother Geoffrey Samuel Gluskin, four sisters and their families, and is remembered by many friends.
Interment was private and no service or memorial is planned per David’s final wishes.

Thomas C. Head

Thomas C. Head, age 58, of Villa Park, Ill. Passed away on Feb 27, 2015. Beloved husband of Dawn; loving father of Rachel Colleen Head (Fiancé Peter Kurasz IV) and Daniel Thomas Head; dear brother of Suzanne (Jev) Conover, Jim Head, Robert (Joy) Head and Joanne (Joseph) Covert; fond son-in-law of Dorothy Weir, uncle of many.

Howard F. Lass

Howard F. Lass, age 81, of Lake Summerset-Davis, Ill., formerly of Villa Park, passed away peacefully Feb. 18, 2015. Howard is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Russell) Lass; and grandson, Bryan Christian.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline (Hornsby); Brother, Jim (Betty) of Florida; Son, David (Karen); Daughters, Debbie (Terry) Kalkanian and Judy (Joe) Krivak. He cherished his grandchildren, Ashley (Dylan) Brewer; Kim (Ben) Gries and Bryan Christian; Dalton Lass; and great-grandson, Wyatt (Sweet Baby) Gries.
Howard and Pauline built their weekend/retirement home in 1977 after enjoying many years of camping at Lake Summerset. They retired full-time to Lake Summerset in 1991. Howard was an avid golfer and shared his golf cart and rounds of golf with many friends from Lake Summerset. He enjoyed many weekly bowling leagues, fishing and Bocce Ball competitions.
Growing up, Howard, along with his Father and Brother, was very involved in Boy Scouts and Howard had the distinguished honor of becoming an Eagle Scout. Howard was enlisted in the Army from 1952 to his honorable discharged in 1955. He worked as a Loan Officer for Chicago Federal Savings & Loan for over 30 years until his retirement.
Howard was such a good fun-loving character and he will be truly missed by his family and friends. The family is respecting Howard’s wishes of cremation with no services planned.

Cora Lucas

Cora Lucas, age 97, formerly of Lombard, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, in Bensenville, Ill.
Services were held. Private interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.

Steve Mills

Steve Mills, 64, of Lombard, died at Good Samaritan Hospital on Jan. 30.
Surviving him are his father, Robert C. Mills; his sister, Cathy Yant; his children, Jim (Kim) Mills, Jaime (Scott) Burpo, Jason (Natalie) Mills; and wonderful grandchildren, Ryan, Rylee, Peyton, Jordyn, Jacob, Jackson, Kelly, Chris, Blake and Jason Drake. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; daughter, Jen Mills; and brother, Larry Mills.

Robert C. Mills

Robert C. Mills, 91 years old, of Lombard, died Feb. 22, 2015, at home. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired union carpenter.
Survived by daughter Cathy Yant; beloved grandchildren Levi (Kirsten) Yant, Samantha (Ken) Sodergren, Jim (Kim) Mills, Jaime (Scott) Burpo, Jason (Natalie) Mills; and loving great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; sons, Steve and Larry; and granddaughter, Jen.

Debbie Meyer

Debbie Meyer, age 61, of Elburn, formerly of Lombard, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Feb. 28. Gone from our sight, but never our hearts, she will be greatly missed.
Debbie was born Sept. 27, 1953, in Booneville, Miss., the oldest child to Sidney and Martha Whitehead (Serrano). Debbie spent much of her childhood on the Hatfield family farm in Mississippi. Debbie loved spending time with her Grandmother, Maw Birdy, and Grandfather, Pa Jack. Later on in life Debbie’s family moved to Westmont, Ill, where she attended Downers Grove North High School.
Debbie met the love of her life in the fall of 1970 when she met Tom Meyer through a mutual friend. Their relationship blossomed into something special and they married Jan. 29, 1972, at St John’s Catholic Church in Lombard. After their wedding they moved in to their first home on La Londe Street in Lombard. Tom and Debbie were blessed with four beautiful children: Tom, Adam, Megan and Jill.
Debbie was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed every minute of it. Her world revolved around her children and she couldn’t wait for the day to have grandchildren. Debbie was blessed with five beautiful granddaughters and two angels in heaven who have been eagerly awaiting her arrival. Debbie also has her first Grandson on the way, due in June.
Debbie was a devout member of Grace Baptist Church of Lombard for many years before moving out to Elburn. A few years after moving to Elburn, Tom and Debbie found Calvary Baptist Church in Geneva. Their love for serving God flourished while at Calvary.
Debbie is survived by her Husband Tom and her four children: Tom (Sarah) Meyer and their daughters, Hosanna and Scarlett Meyer; Adam Meyer and his daughter, Avery Spence; Megan (Justin) Pittard and their daughters, Isla and Estelle; Jill (Brad) Caldwell, Son on the way; and her mother, Martha Serrano.
She is preceded in death by her Father; Sidney Whitehead; and her two Granddaughters, Gentry and Presley Caldwell.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 4-8 p.m. at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce, Elburn, Ill. A funeral to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held Friday, March 6, at 10 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, 823 Hamilton St., Geneva, IL 60134. Entombment will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery, Batavia.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Debbie’s name. Checks may be made to the “Debbie Meyer Memorial” and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL 60119. Tributes may also be forwarded to the same address or on www.conleycare.com.

Margaret M. Mueller, age 74, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
