Marie Adeline Carver

Marie Adeline Carver, nee Mayr, entered into rest Oct. 5, 2015. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Leo Carver; and her parents, Julius S. and Katherine Mayr. She is survived by her children, Howard L. (Sue), Ruth J. (Steve) Eckhardt, Dale A. (Nancy) and Karen A. Fouts; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Marie loved dancing, especially square dancing and the polka. She was walking proof it didn’t take a million bucks to look great, putting together coordinated outfits (including jewelry and shoes) like nobody’s business! No matter if it was retail, resale or on sale she always looked fantastic. Having a natural flair for merchandising, Marie devoted herself to various charitable causes, donating time to local resale shops including the Second Time Around at Eastgate and Square Deal at Lexington Square.
Gathering, Thursday, Oct. 22, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1501 S. Main St., Lombard. Memorial Mass, 10:30 a.m. Interment is private.

James D. Chantos of Villa Park, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 10, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, Ill. Interment was private.

Mary Madeline Kufer

Mary Madeline Kufer, age 95, nee Pommier, of Lombard, died Sunday, Oct. 11, at Burgess Square, Westmont, Ill.
Visitation will be held today, Oct. 14, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 a.m. Mass.
Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Ill.
Mrs. Kufer is survived by her brother, Daniel L. (Elizabeth) Pommier of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kufer was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and her brothers and sisters, Rev. James Pommier, Olive K. Ross and Des Neiges Krisch.
Mrs. Kufer was a lifelong resident of Lombard. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grade School and Aurora Madonna High School. Mrs. Kufer had a beauty shop in her Lombard home from the 1940s to the 1980s. She retired from Ultimate Hair Creations in Lombard.
Mrs. Kufer was a former member of the Council of Catholic Women, a former Eucharist Minister and a member of the Rosary group at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. She had been a member of the Sweet Adeline singing group. Mrs. Kufer was an avid bowler and had been very active in the Pro-Life movement.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
