Thomas E. Opolony, age 70, of Freeport, formerly of Villa Park, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, Nov. 29, at St. Mary’s Church in Freeport. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Freeport.

Robert H. Klingenmaier

 

Robert H. Klingenmaier, age 89, U.S. Army veteran, World War II, of Lombard, died Saturday, Nov. 27, at Alden Valley Ridge Nursing Home, Bloomingdale.

Visitation and funeral service will be held today, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst.

Alfred R. “Al” Leisering, age 89, veteran, of Lombard, died Sunday, Nov. 20, at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield.

His body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Association.

David E. Santchi

 

David E. “Dave” Santchi, age 80, of Lombard, died Nov. 26 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove.

Beloved husband of the late Roberta, nee Ciochon. Loving father of Steve of Arizona, Sue (Salvatore) Gruttadauro of Oak Brook and Mike of Lombard. Grandfather of Lisa, Julie and Jill Gruttadauro of Oak Brook. Dear brother of Geraldine Patno of Lombard and Ken Santschi of Wisconsin. Many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Santchi was a lifelong resident of Lombard.  He was a graduate of Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn.  Mr. Santchi had retired in 2000 from 5/3 (Fifth Third) Bank. He had also worked for the Lombard Park District. Mr. Santchi was active with the Radio Players West, Riverside Radio Players and the Theatre of Western Springs.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, from 2-7 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
