Lawrence Guzman, age 77, a 20-year resident of Lombard, passed away Jan.14, 2016, at his home.
Portillo’s biggest fan was born in Chicago, and worked as a scientific glassblower for 35 years at the University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory and Amoco Research.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Patricia, nee Schlott. Loving father to Steven (Jennifer), Glenn (Susie) and Donna Tennerman (Jim Thornton). Proud grandpa of Zach, Sammie, Sara, Teagan, Cole, Gabbie, Payton, Takoda and Ahmilee. Dear brother of Bill and Joann.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 22, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

John Hamlet Morrice

John Hamlet Morrice, 87, of Lombard, Ill., died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, in Warrenton, N.C. He was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., to John P. and Violet Morrice, graduated from Purdue University in 1950, and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53. He was founder and president of Standfast Packaging Products. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Sturm Morrice.
Rev. Henry Presler conducted funeral services on Monday, Jan. 18, at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Warrenton.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Wise of Fort Wayne, Ind.; children, Susan Thompson (Lewis), Jennifer Morrice Elskes (Steve Lukingbeal), Polly Morrice (Scott Bell) and John Morrice (Michele); grandchildren, Robert Thompson (Bobbi Corker), Eve Rutherfurd (Walker), Lucy Zimmerman (Ted), James Elskes (Marianna), Sophia Golvach (Sam Blazek), John Paul Golvach, Ryan Morrice and Daniel Morrice; and nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his special friend, Dorothy Cobe, of Huntley, Ill.
