Marilyn A. Buller

Marilyn A. Buller, age 84, of St. Charles, formerly of Lombard, passed away Dec. 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Buller. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Clem) Mejia and Lynette (Robert) Bishop; son, Brian Buller; and grandchildren, Monica Mejia, David Mejia, Jesika Bishop, Dallas Bishop and Juliette Bishop.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Elma Amanda Cairns

Funeral Services for Elma Amanda (Puscheck) Cairns will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lombard today, Jan. 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. Mrs. Cairns will lie in state at the church prior to the funeral. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Daniel Wegrzyn will officiate. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2317 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, Ill. We commit her mortal remains to the earth in confident hope of the Resurrection and eternal life!
Elma Amanda (Puscheck) Cairns, age 97, died Dec. 31, 2015. Elma was born Dec. 29, 1918, a daughter of Clemens and Mathilde (Heidorn) Puscheck of Hillside. Elma was baptized on Jan. 5, 1919, and received into the Lord’s Holy Family. She was confirmed in 1933 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillside.
On May 11, 1941, Elma was united in marriage to William J. “Bill” Cairns. They were blessed with three children: Kathleen Viola, Joel William and Dale Robert. Elma was a resident of Lombard and a faithful member of St. John’s since 1952. She was a longtime member of Mary Martha Guild (LWML) and a member of the choir. She was employed at West Suburban Bank for almost 40 years, retiring as a vice president.
Elma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill (2000); her parents, Clemens and Mathilde Puscheck; her sisters, Viola Puscheck and Lora Klemm; her brother, Armin Puscheck; and brother-in-law, Barney Klemm.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Wendell) Wessler, Joel (Gail) Cairns and Dale (Florence) Cairns; her grandchildren, Lisa Knapp, Brian and Gregory Cairns, Dana and Emma Cairns, Angelo and Anthony Williams; a great-grandchild, Logan Knapp; and a sister-in-law, Marion Puscheck.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church or St. John’s Lutheran School would be appreciated.

Charles Martin Crissey

Charles Martin Crissey died on Dec. 7, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nev., at the age of 73. 
Born on Jan. 7, 1942, in Chicago, to Fred and Ola Crissey, he grew up in Lombard where he attended school, being a member of Glenbard East’s first graduating class, and eventually worked for the Lombard Park District and taught sixth grade at Pleasant Lane Elementary School. His Ph.D. in Educational Leadership led Charley to a variety of middle school administrative posts, from Keeneyville and Arlington Heights, Ill., to Watsonville, Calif. He eventually worked in Okinawa, Japan, and Las Vegas, Nev., for the University of Phoenix teaching education courses and mentoring administrative interns.  
Charles is survived by his wife, Etsuko Crissey of Las Vegas, his sons, Charles Dean of Streamwood, Ill., and Ryan Thomas (Kristin) of Oswego, Ill., and their mother, Kathleen Marden; his brother, Fred, of New Richmond, Wis.; his sister, Linda, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and six grandchildren both here and overseas.
A memorial service will be held at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, from 3-7:30 p.m. On Friday, Jan. 8, there will be a graveside service for the family at Forest Hill Cemetery of Glen Ellyn.

Barbara Figler Gallo

Barbara Figler Gallo, age 72, of Glen Ellyn, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

June M. Heisman, 88, of Villa Park, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Kathryn “Lynn” Pfeiffer

Kathryn “Lynn” Pfeiffer, age 92, of Villa Park, Ill. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Pfeiffer. Loving mother of Robert Pfeiffer, James (Roberta) Pfeiffer and the late William Pfeiffer. Also survived by dear daughter-in-law Linda Pfeiffer. Dearest grandmother of Eric (Shannon), Elizabeth (Nate) Keller, Jason, Mark (Erica), Amy, Adam and David. Great grandmother of 10.
Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park, lll. Interment, Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
