LaVerne C. Caliendo

 

LaVerne C. Caliendo, age 86, of Glen Ellyn, passed away Wednesday, July 20.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Matthew Church.  Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Arlene Mathieu

 

Arlene B. Mathieu, nee Wentling, age 90, of Winfield, formerly of Villa Park, passed away Saturday, July 23, at Rosewood Care Center.

Visitation will be today, July 28, from 3-9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.

Margaret Jean Mott

 

Margaret Jean Mott, age 92, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., formerly of Lombard, Ill., passed away on April 8, 2016. She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., and was raised in Minnesota by her late adopted parents, Dr. Kenneth and Hazel Nilson. She graduated in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Minnesota.

During her career as a dietitian she interned at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis and then worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill., and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association for 49 years. She married Richard C. Mott in May of 1947. They raised their four children in Lombard, Ill., where she was a very active member in the Community Presbyterian Church of Lombard. 

Following her move to Oak Ridge, Tenn., in 1993, she became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge. She was active in the church choir and many other church committees until the last months of her life. For many years, she enjoyed participating in The National Presbyterian Mariners annual meeting for the fellowship, the opportunity to meet with others devoted to their mission and the chance to travel throughout the country.

Margaret is survived by her children, Robert (Joan) of Summerville, S.C., Thomas (Karen) of Montague, Mich., Nancy (Shelly) of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and John (Arline) of New Windsor, N.Y.; along with six grandchildren, Brian (Lisa), John, Jeremy (Apryl), Jared (Cathy), Sarah (Antoine Gosse), and Brandon (Amy); and seven great-grandchildren, Kendall, Ryleigh, Parker, Vera, Elizabeth, Emma and Caleb. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Richard C. Mott.

A memorial service was held April 17 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Internment will take place Aug. 6, 2016, 10 a.m. at Chapel Hills Gardens.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Community Presbyterian Church of Lombard, Ill., in honor of Margaret and her devotion to the church.

 

Adele A. Schmidt

 

Adele A. Schmidt (nee Arrighi), 97, a resident of Lombard for 65 years, passed away peacefully at Autumn Leaves in St. Charles on Monday, July 18.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 21, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
