Edward Allen Clark

Edward Allen Clark, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Virginia Beach on April 29, 2016. Edward was born in Chicago, Ill.
Edward proudly served in the USMC for four years. Afterward he was a respected sergeant in the Lombard Police Dept. for 25 years. He always spoke his mind with a caustic sense of humor. He was a great humanitarian, loved animals, hot dogs, donuts, coffee and cooking.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Peggy; son, Jim Clark (Denise); stepdaughter, Sandra Mecklenburg and fiancé (Richard Kleifgen); sisters, Carolyn and Mary Ellen; brother, Ray Clark; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. Predeceased by his daughter, Pamela; and brother, John.
The service to celebrate his life will be held at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, on Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m. with a luncheon to follow. Jeanette A. Halmel

Jeanette A. Halmel, 87, a longtime resident of Lombard, died peacefully Thursday, April 28.

Edward E. Hobday

Edward E. Hobday, age 77, of Lombard, passed away suddenly April 29 at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Hobday is survived by his loving daughter, Laura (Robert) Joens; his grandchildren, Dakota and Alexander; his daughter-in-law, Cindy; his siblings, Irene Lange and Ruth (Silvio) Bastiani; and his sister-in-law, Audrey.
Mr. Hobday was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Maureen, nee Lynn; his son, Michael; one grandson, Kyle Hobday; and four siblings, Charles, Harry, Helen and Martha.
Mr. Hobday grew up in Chicago and graduated from Proviso East High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Hobday was a resident of Lombard since 1970. He worked for AAA Garage Doors in Lombard.

Mark A. Orbik

Mark A. Orbik, age 61, of Lombard, passed away, suddenly, on April 29, 2016.
Celebration of life party pending.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark A. Jr. (Christina Orengo) of California and Michael A. (Julie Ann) of Florida; his sister, Debra L. Morgan (Gerry Morgan); his brother, Jay M. ; his two dogs, Carmel and Addison; and lots of extended family and friends.
Mark was a resident of Lombard for 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mark graduated with a bachelor in computer science from Chicago State University and was a software engineer for the last 30 years. He was an avid animal lover and spent his lunch hour every day volunteering at P.A.C.T. Humane Society in Bloomingdale. He was also an amazing guitar player and spent his younger years in a rock and roll band. His life was shaped by music and it was integral to the man he was.
His family meant everything to him and he enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. He was kind and warm and treated everyone he met with respect and genuine curiosity about their story. He loved the outdoors, and spent as much time as he possibly could walking, jogging, biking, roller blading and anything else that would get him out in the sunlight. He was a genuinely kind and compassionate person who will live on in our hearts forever.
