Sarah Hampson

 

Sarah “Sally” Hampson, nee Tait, age 100, of Lombard.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Community Congregational Church, Villa Park.  Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West.

Sally is survived by five children, Ronald (Eadie) of Alabama, Janet (Tom) LaBarbera of Villa Park, Diane (Jerry) Kusiak of Lombard, Linda (Mike) Boudreaux of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Gary (Paress) of West Chicago; a daughter-in-law, Dawn, of Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R.; her son, Allan; a sister, Alison Balis; and a brother, William Tait, U.S. Merchant Marine killed in action during World War II.

Sally grew up in Chicago, moved to Villa Park for 15 years and had lived in Lombard for 64 years. She had been a member of Community Congregational Church UCC in Villa Park for 64 years. Sally was a homemaker and a member of the Villa Park Garden Club and was member of the Congregational Women’s Club, Sally’s Circle.

Elaine M. Wallinder

 

Elaine M. Wallinder, nee Mesenbrink, 95, of Lombard, formerly of Villa Park. Beloved wife of the late Harry A. Loving mother of Janet (Ronald Webb) Wallinder and the late Cheryl (Kirk Sunday) Wallinder.

Visitation 3-8 p.m. today, Nov. 17, 2016, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181.

Lying in state Friday, 10:30 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison, Lombard, IL 60148. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.

William N. White

 

William N. “Bill” White, 71, of PawPaw, died at 5:45 p.m. November 6, 2016, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.

A funeral Mass was held at Holy Cross Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Cremation rites were accorded following services. Full military honors were conducted by the Mendota VFW Post 4079 outside of Holy Cross Church immediately following the Mass.

Bill was born June 26, 1945, in Maywood, to Alfred and Gertrude (Bach) White. He married Mary Ashton November 5, 1966, in St. James Church, Maywood.

Bill farmed and was employed by Otto and Sons in West Chicago. He was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners. He loved his family. They were his hobby.

Bill served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Edward (Traci) White of Geneva; a daughter, Denise (Doug) Heise of Mendota; a brother, James (Anne) White of West Bend, Wis.; 3 sisters; Lynne White of Chicago, Mary Louise (Vince) White-Petteruti of Breckenridge, Colorado, and Susan White of Virginia Beach, Virginia.; and papa to four superstar grandchildren, Nicole and Megan White, and Riley and Nicholas Heise; and a sister-in-law, Paulette White of Dripping Springs, Texas.

He was also farmer Bill to his cows: Stitch, Danny, UE, Little Mama, Big ****, Kelsie and Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Daniel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.
