Marilyn Joan Carrigan

 

Marilyn Joan Carrigan, “Lynn” or “Mimi”, nee Tyrrell, age 87, of Lombard, formerly of Bellwood, born and raised in Oak Park. Devoted wife, partner and friend of the late Joseph Dominic; greatest mom of Pamela Joan (William) Dvonch, Patricia Jo (Domenic) Conversa and Michael Joseph (Patricia) Carrigan; cherished grandmother “Mimi” of David (fiancĂ©e Jennifer Hansen), Matthew (Maria) Conversa, Katherine (Robert) Niemerg and Christopher (Caryn) Conversa; proud great-grandmother of Aidan, Domenic, Blake, Isabella, Avery, Joseph, James, Taylor and Adrienne; aunt, cousin and friend of many. Marilyn was preceded by parents Frank J. and Eleanor “Lenore” Tyrrell; and siblings Adrienne, Frank and Irene Tyrrell Lund.

Loyal graduate of Trinity High School and Ascension Grade School. Recipient of St. Pius X Parish Woman of the Year, Trinity High School Distinguished Alumna for Service Award. For 15 years, she wrote, produced, directed and choreographed the St. Simeon Thespians Musical Reviews. Past president of Trinity High School Mothers Club and Rosary College Auxiliary. Past board member of Fenwick Mothers Club, St. Simeon Women's Guild, Bellwood Youth Commission and Indian Lake Yacht Club.

Through the years other service to church and civic communities included: Eucharistic Minister, Elizabeth Ministry, Bellwood Community Relations Council, Judge of Election, Girl Scout Leader and cheerleading coach, just to name a few. Above all, being a wife and mother were most important to Lynn. Let it be known that our mom was the best!

Visitation today, Nov. 3, 3-9 p.m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd. (3 blks. S. of Roosevelt Rd.) Lombard. Funeral Friday, 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1025 E. Madison, Lombard. Mass 11 a.m. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Annamae Fitzpatrick nee McGuire, resident of Lombard, beloved wife of the late James R.; cherished mother of Maryann (Kenneth) Brown, James (Therese), Kathryn (Larry) Elmore, Anthony (Michele), Kevin (Laura), Therese (Frank Mott), Jean (Michael) Waldron and Annemarie (Larry) Fitzpatrick; cherished grandmother of Kenny Brown, Megan (BJ) Reid and Michael Fitzpatrick, Luke (Megan), Sam Elmore, Jamie (Billy) Wojtysiak, Max and Gabby Fitzpatrick, Connor (Stephanie), Quinn and Mae Fitzpatrick, Olivia, Emily and Franky Mott, Michael, Meghan and Matthew Waldron, Jonathan (Amanda), Jimmy, MaryKate and Annie Fitzpatrick; adoring great-grandmother of Gwen and Finn Elmore and Maya Su-ann Fitzpatrick and Joey Wojtysiak; loving daughter of the late Eugene and the late Mae McGuire; adoring sister of the late Gene McGuire; dear cousin of Rev. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 31, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Road, Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial was at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, Lombard. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.

Linda Sue Mogavero, age 74, of Lombard, passed away Monday, Oct. 17.

Geraldine Ponziani, age 77, of Lombard. Beloved wife of the late Don; loving mother of Tamara (Tim) Lawdenski; stepmother of David (Char) Ponziani, Debra (Doug) Peterson and Daniel Ponziani; devoted grandmother of Heather (Jason) Gonzalez, Nickolaus Lawdenski, Lauren (Bob) Dobry and Vincent Lawdenski; cherished great-grandmother of Sofia, Leo and Bianca Gonzalez; fond sister of Sophie (the late Jim) Walker, the late Otto (RaeAnn) Heinz, the late Elaine (the late Ernie) Siefert, Barbara (the late Don) Voirol, the late John (JoBeth) Heinz and the late Bruce (the late Lynn) Heinz; aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Longtime employee of Walgreens in Carol Stream. Whoever crossed paths with Geraldine is a better person because of it. She was a friend, a loving family member, caregiver and the matriarch of our family. She will forever be missed, but always in our hearts.
