Ruth O. Creaser

 

Funeral services for Ruth O. Creaser, 87, of Elmhurst, were held Monday, Oct. 10, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 136 E. Highland, Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.

Thomas A. Fosnot

 

Thomas A. Fosnot, age 76, of Villa Park, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 11, at St. Alexander Church, Villa Park. Interment was private.

LaVerne F. Hribik, nee Dewey, age 86, of Lombard. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Karen Stubbe of Waterloo, Iowa, and Thomas (Cheri) of Belvidere, Ill. Cherished Grandmother of Jason Stubbe, Jessica (Mike) Roman, Brandy (Brenton Drace), Daniel (Gina) and Sara. Great-grandmother of Garrett Roman. Dear sister of the late Leslie Dewey and aunt of George.

Gene J. Miller

 

Gene J. Miller (Mieloszyk), age 85, of Lombard, passed away Oct. 5 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 8, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Christ the King Church for a Memorial Mass. Interment was private.

Jeff Schlitter

 

Jeff Schlitter, age 59, of Lombard, passed away Oct. 8, 2016.

A Memorial Gathering will be held today, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. A Memorial Mass will then follow at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard.

Donald R. Seiler

 

Donald R. “Don” Seiler, age 87, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Lombard, passed away Oct. 6, 2016.

Visitation will be held today, Oct. 13, from 4-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Services will be held Friday, with Mr. Seiler lying-in-state from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oak Brook Terrace.

Mr. Seiler is survived by his children, Cindy (Jeff) Rueffer of Batavia and Scott (Sarah) of Boston; his grandchildren, Katie Rueffer of North Carolina, Michael Rueffer of Batavia and Samantha Seiler of Boston; his brother, Charlie (Patricia) Seiler of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Seiler was preceded in death by his friend and former wife, Virginia A., nee Stelter.

Mr. Seiler grew up in Oak Park and attended Oak Park High School. He graduated from Elmhurst College where he was an ALL American in Basketball and Baseball. Mr. Seiler was a resident of Lombard from 1955–1985. He was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. He retired from Flexonics Corporation in Bartlett after 40 years as Purchasing Manager. Mr. Seiler lived in Crystal Lake for 30 years and was a member of the Crystal Lake Country Club. He was a 2 handicap golfer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Elmhurst College Volleyball, Lake Forest College Basketball or St. John’s Ev. Lutheran School Sports Boosters, is appreciated.

James S. Swinson

 

James S. “Jim” Swinson, age 77, passed away at the Elmhurst Hospital Hospice on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 9 p.m.

Jim was the dearly loved husband of Betsy Swinson; and father to Karen (Jeff) Barnes, Debbie (Rick) Evans, Deanna Lambert and Greg Swinson. He was loving grandfather to four. Fond brother of Fred (Linda) Swinson. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a patient, kind, organized and friendly man who treasured his family and friends. Longtime collector of Howdy Doody memorabilia.

Visitation is today, Oct. 13, 4-8 p.m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road (3 Blks. S. of Roosevelt) Lombard. In state Friday, 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, 1111 E. Madison St., Lombard.

Luncheon will be served at church following the service. All are invited.
