James R. Burdett

 

James R. Burdett, age 82, a lifelong resident of Lombard, passed away on Oct. 13, 2016. He is the beloved husband of Marilyn for 57 years; loving father of Dan (Julie), Donna Burdett and the late Deborah Burdett- Dodd; dear grandfather of Michael, Connor, Jessie & Emma Burdett, Matthew Humphress, Shawn Anaya, Daniel (Tiffany) Dodd and Dennis Dodd; great-grandfather of Isabelle Dodd; devoted son of the late Paul E. (late Ruth W.); fond brother of the late Paul W.; and special uncle of Kathleen (Eric) Benson, Mary (John) Kulivas and Paul (Kim) Burdett.

James was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Glen Ellyn, he graduated from Glenbard High School class of ’51, graduated from U of I and then went to work for the family business in the golf course industry.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn (630-469-0032) from 10-11 a.m., then a celebration of life service will be held after.

Louis Francis Gluth

 

Louis Francis Gluth, born in Chicago on Oct. 11, 1922, died Oct. 11, 2016, on his 94th birthday at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He attended St. Benedict's Grammar School and Lane Tech High School in Chicago.

He was a WW II member of the U.S. 87th Mountain Infantry, 10th Mountain Division and served in the Aleutian Islands and the Italian Campaign from Feb. 1943-Dec. 1945.

Lou was a resident of Lombard since 1953. He was known for so many good qualities: loving, supportive, complimentary, humble, patient and hardworking.

He will be known most of all for his hugs for everyone, his sense of humor and his dedication to family.

A funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Church on Oct. 18.

 

Dylan G. Hoffman

 

Dylan G. Hoffman, age 34, of Lombard, died suddenly on Oct. 14, 2016.

Funeral Services will be today, Oct. 20, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth, Lombard, for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery.

Dylan is survived by his loving wife, Jordan E., nee Kindl; his daughter, Taylor Marie; his parents, George & Ruth, nee Holtmeyer, of Naperville; 3 brothers, Bill Hoffman of Berwyn, Christopher Hoffman of New York, and Ian Hoffman of Lombard; 5 sisters, Julia (Adam) Mieczkowski of Washington, Claire Hoffman of Lombard, Anissa Hoffman of Lisle, Dakhita Hoffman of Naperville and Imani Hoffman of Naperville; 4 nieces & nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brant & Sheryl Kindl of Lombard; and many other relatives.

Dylan grew up in Lombard. He attended Hammerschmidt Elementary School, Glenn Westlake Middle School, Glenbard East High School and Naperville North High School.  He graduated in 2000 and attended College of DuPage. Dylan worked for Mister Natural Carpet Cleaning and was training to be a welder. He was a drummer and also played guitar.

Maurice Raymond Lebbos

 

Maurice Raymond Lebbos, age 24, of Cary, passed away on Wednesday, Oct.12, at Alexian Brothers.

Visitation was held Friday, October 14, at Our Lady of Lebanon Church.  Interment was at Irving Park Cemetery.

George L. Papacek, originally of Berwyn, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 13, in Lombard, where he currently resided.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
