Kenneth C. Knutson

 

Kenneth C. Knutson, age 84, of Yorkville, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 2, 1932, in Chicago, the son of Charles and Helen (Albrecht) Knutson.

Kenneth was united in marriage on May 3, 1952, in Chicago, to the former Joan C. Young and they spent the next 56 happy years of their lives together until her passing on February 24, 2009. He was employed as an electrician for many years by Meade Electric. Mr. Knutson was a member for over 60 years of IBEW Local #9. Kenneth was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Nancy) Knutson of Bristol, Sherry (Scott) Lyden of Aurora, Sue (Craig) Schumann of Yorkville, Sandra (Steven) Grebner of Yorkville; his grandchildren, Bryan (Kay) Knutson, Teri (Kyle) Burritt, Josh Schumann, and Kailey Schumann; great-grandchildren, Kyri Joan Burritt, Aubry Knutson, Tessa Burritt, Morgyn Knutson, and Grady Knutson; his sister-in-law, Donna Knutson of Waterman; as well as nephew, Thomas (Becky) Knutson, and his niece, Linda Knutson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Knutson; his wife, Joan Knutson; and his brother, Lawrence Knutson.

A Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 10, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut, Yorkville, with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C., officiating. Interment followed in Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Wheaton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Ken may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

Mary Jean McGee

 

Mary Jean McGee, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 4.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 10, at St. John the Apostle Church, Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Vicki Plonka

 

Vicki Plonka, nee Rabbers, age 58, of Glen Ellyn, died April 2 at Alexian Brothers, Elk Grove Village.

Visitation was held Friday, April 7, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Victor A. Tufano

 

Victor A. Tufano, age 92, a longtime resident of Lombard, died peacefully April 5, 2017.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Mr. Tufano is survived by his loving children, James (Jean), Victoria, Daniel (Cathy) and Linda (Matt Cimento); his cherished 8 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; his siblings, James (Clydia) and Mariella (Larry) Dorn; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tufano was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemarie, nee Mauriello; and his parents, James and Jennie Tufano.

Mr. Tufano served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific campaigns. He had lived in Lombard for 48 years. Mr. Tufano was the former owner of Tower Printers on Main Street in Lombard. He was the former President of Uptown Lions Club. Mr. Tufano was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Breen Council.
