Hugh Claycombe

 

Hugh Overbeck Claycombe, age 82, of Lombard. Beloved husband of Lola M. Claycombe, nee Hudson; loving father of David Charles (Maria) Claycombe and Lisa (Tony) Sliger; devoted grandfather of Javi, Mikey and Danny Claycombe; fond brother of Howard Earl (the late Grace) Claycombe Jr.; uncle of Lauren, Miriam, John and Peter Claycombe.

Hugh was a passionate religious artist, with illustrations published in Zondervan and Rose publishing books; he was also an active and dedicated member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and an avid model railroad enthusiast.

Margaret I. Gerlach

 

Margaret I. Gerlach, nee Allan, age 93, of Lombard. Beloved wife of the late Albert. Loving mother of Richard (Terri), Michael (Deborah), Kerri (Wayne) Di Varco, the late Wayne and Kim. Grandmother of nine. Great-grandmother of 14. Preceded by two brothers. Aunt and Great-Aunt of many.

Visitation Saturday 9 a.m. until time of Service 11 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment Private at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.

Mrs. Gerlach was a resident of Lombard 65 years. She had retired from the Lombard Post Office. She met with dear friends for coffee monthly. Mrs. Gerlach was an avid Cubs fan.

Keith Kaul

 

Keith Kaul, 71, formerly of Lombard, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017. Keith was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served from 1965-69. His bravery during the war earned him many awards, including the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was part of the 7th Battalion, 15th Artillery.

Keith was born on May 7, 1945, in Chicago, to Emmet Kaul and Kathryn Venice. He was the Scout Master of Troop 245, where he touched the lives of many young scouts. He spent the last 20 years of his life in San Antonio, Texas. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, collecting coins and living each day to the fullest.

He is survived by his first love, Sophie Kaul; and his children, Robert Kaul, Jennifer (Richard) Sydoryk, Karen (Larry) Eisner, Deborah (Nathaniel) Richards and Karolyne Kaul. He is also survived by his dear brothers, Nicholas (Betty Lou) Venice, Peter (Nancy) Venice and Steven Jeras. He was the proud grandfather of Hailey, Katherine, Rebekah, Christopher, Max, Calvin, Sophia, Amanda, Charlotte and Camille.

Keith was a gentle soul. He praised God for each and every new day. He was a kind man, always smiling and encouraging. He treated everyone with respect and enjoyed making new friends everywhere he went. Keith lit up the room with his contagious smile. He was an amazing storyteller, a lover of life, an encouraging father and a compassionate grandfather.

There will be a memorial service for Mr. Kaul on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Parkview Community Church, 764 St. Charles Road, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. All are welcome. Condolences may be sent to 35 S. Stewart Ave., Lombard, IL 60148.

 

Frank Kish

Frank Sven Kish, age 78, “sweet and lovable,” passed away Friday, April 21, 2017.

Funeral services will be today with a visitation from 3-8 p.m. and a service at 5 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Daniel Skibbie

 

Daniel Skibbie, 63, left this earth on April 14, 2017.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marie; and three brothers, Robert, John and William. He is survived by his two sons, Sean (Vang) and Martin; three granddaughters, Emma, Maya and Audrey; seven siblings, Tom, Ron (Sue), Linda, Don, Mary, Terry and Pat. And many other beloved friends and family, especially his adopted brother and sisters at the funky java coffee house in Villa Park.

Dan was a free spirit who lived life for the next adventure, a chance to make people laugh, great music, and meeting new people.

A funeral mass will be held in Dan's memory on Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 350 N. Westmore Ave., Villa Park, with Father Rosenbaum presiding. Visitation at 9 a.m. Private internment at a later date.

 

Nancy F. Weatherhead

 

Nancy F. Weatherhead, age 89, of Lombard, passed away Tuesday, April 18.

Funeral mass was held Friday, April 21, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
