Alicia Brackmann

 

Alicia Brackmann (Pietrzyk), age 76, longtime Elmhurst and Villa Park resident, passed away on March 27, 2017. Beloved wife of the late James Brackmann, she is survived by her loving daughter Leslie (Greg) Seei; grandchildren Tanya Boutin and Marc (Amanda) Boutin; great grandchildren Sabrina Miller and Beau Boutin; and sister Dee (Donald) Bender, along with a devoted extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Joanne Pietrzyk.

Born Nov. 8, 1940, Alicia loved to dance, sing and paint throughout her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed nature and animals. Her favorite color was purple, and she was always looking for the perfect Singapore Sling. She wished to have her life celebrated instead of mourned.

A private service will be held for close friends and family on April 29, 2017, at the Morton Arboretum.

Marcella M. Dion

 

Marcella M. Dion (nee Stoffel), 83, of Lombard, passed away on March 30, 2017.

She was very active in numerous ministries and activities at Sacred Heart Church, and was a past recipient of the CCW Woman of the Year award.

Marcella is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 60 years, Edward; her loving children, James (Lynn) Dion of Villa Park, Yvonne (Anthony) Invergo of Lombard, Denise (Joseph) Pleitt of Warrenville, Bro. Thomas Dion of Orange, New Jersey, and Daniel Dion of Lombard; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 1 brother; as well as countless nieces, nephews and relatives. Mrs. Dion was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rose Stoffel; grandson, Nicholas Pleitt; brothers, George, Ernest and Ralph; and sisters, Dolores and Eileen.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 9, 2017, from 3-8 p.m., at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, on Monday, April 10, 2017, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.

In lieu of flowers, Masses or memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.

 

Rosemary A. Gleason

 

Rosemary A. Gleason, age 93, of Waconia, Minnesota, and formerly Blue Eye, Missouri, died Tuesday March 28, 2017, at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center.

Memorial service was held Thursday, March 30, 2017, in the chapel of Westview Acres in Waconia with Chaplain Helmar Heckel as officiant.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Leukemia Society and the American Cancer Society.

Rosemary Ann (O’Brien) Gleason was born December 3, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Kennedy and Genevieve (Carrier) O’Brien. Rosemary was raised in the Detroit metro area.

On September 6, 1947, Rosemary was united in marriage with Rodney Delane Gleason. The couple moved to the Chicago suburbs where they raised their four children.   Rosemary and Rodney sold their engineering consulting firm in 1991 and moved to Blue Eye, where they enjoyed a lovely retirement on Table Rock Lake. Rosemary and Rodney enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and hosting family members for relaxing and fun vacations. They left their family and friends with many happy memories of good times together.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents; husband Rodney; son David; brother Kennedy O’Brien; sister Patricia O’Brien.

Rosemary is survived by her loving family: children John (Dawn) Gleason of Indianapolis, Indiana; James (Susan) Gleason of Champaign; Mary (Robert) Best of Waconia; grandchildren Casey (Lauren) Best, Jessica Best, Benjamin Gleason, Megan Gleason.

Brian David Heuer

 

Brian David Heuer, 52, formerly of Lombard and late of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on March 28, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

He was the beloved father of Evan and Claire; dear son of Joanne (Eichman) and the late Bert; loving brother of Cathy (Keith) Weber; also survived by nieces and nephew, Kelly, Carly and Colin; his former wife Kate (Bolton); and many other dear relatives, and dedicated friends.

Brian graduated from the Lombard school system, Glenbard East High School and Western Illinois University. He received his master's of education from Roosevelt University. He was a sales rep for many years and later worked at Marklund in Geneva. Lastly he was a special Ed/Bilingual teacher at Kimball Middle School in Elgin where he enjoyed his job, students and associates. Brian will be sorely missed and never forgotten.  We, the family, from the bottom of our hearts would like to thank everyone for the kindness and love shown to Brian during his illness. We know he is now at peace in Heaven and has no more pain or suffering. Brian loved music and animals and especially enjoyed playing the guitar.

At his request he has been cremated and a memorial/celebration of his life will be held on Saturday evening, April 8, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Villa Park VFW at the intersection of Ardmore and St. Charles Road in Villa Park. All of his dear friends and family will gather and celebrate knowing and loving Brian here on earth.

 

Penelope Ann Hotz

 

Penelope Ann Hotz, 84, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, March 23, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Marion E. Rosenwinkel

 

Marion E. Rosenwinkel, 92, of Lombard, passed away on Thursday, March 30.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.
