Charles D. Egan, age 87, of Lombard, passed away Aug. 1, 2017.

A Memorial Mass will be held today, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Marion March

 

Marion March, nee Alexuk, age 86, of Wheaton, formerly of Lombard, died Aug. 4 at her home.

Private family service will be held Friday.

Mrs. March is survived by her loving children, Pamela Summers of Indianapolis, David (Deborah) of Lombard and Jonathan (Tammy) of Wheaton; 7 grandchildren; Kelly (Rob) Shaw, Jonathan Summers, Christopher March, Alexa March, Nicholas March, Jessica March, Bekka Rood; 3 great-grandchildren William Shaw, Ryan March, Riley Shaw; and a brother, Howard Alexuk of Rhode Island.

Mrs. March was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin J. March; and her siblings, Michael, John, Lillian Lawson, Alice Ratican and Sylvia Bozek.

Francis Ann Saunders

 

Frances Ann Dickson Saunders, nee Dickson, age 97, of Lombard, died August 3, at Lexington Health Care, Lombard.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Brust Funeral Home. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside.

Mrs. Saunders is survived by her loving son, Andrew W. Welfing, U.S. Army, retired; four stepchildren, Karen and Rick, Rick, Sylvia, and Elmer Jr.; many step-grandchildren; a niece, Peggy (Bill); and a nephew, Blaine.

She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Elmer Saunders, Arthur Ehlert, Stanley T. Olsen and Andrew C. Welfing; and her brother, Walter Carl Dickson.

Mrs. Saunders had been a resident of Lombard for 63 years and had owned a house on Finley Road for 50 years.  She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Saunders graduated from Drake University in Des Moines with a B.A. in journalism; she was a member of P.E.O. and also a member of AAUW and their Investment Club.  She owned a restaurant for 18 years in Aurora, first as the Bonanza Steakhouse, and later re-named as Fran & Art’s Circle E; She also worked for Rockola Manufacturing for many years. Mrs. Saunders was an avid reader of novels with strong women, enjoyed traveling and was a strong supporter of Lombard businesses.
