Rosemary A. Donovan

 

Rosemary A. Donovan, 89, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Villa Park, passed away Monday, July 24.

Memorial Mass was held Friday, July 28, at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave., Glen Ellyn.

Edwin John Latos

 

Edwin “Ed” John Latos, 95, of Lombard, passed away July 25, 2017.

Ed was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Chicago, to John and Marcella (Prejik) Latos. He graduated from Central YMCA College, now known as Roosevelt University, in 1945. On May 3, 1947, he married the former Bertha Melvina Cecilia Kryspin in Chicago. Ed was employed as a chemist and holds multiple patents in his field of lubrication and engineering. He was a respected member of the American Chemical Society and was renowned for his problem solving abilities.

He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Ed was very active in the community, volunteering at the 45th ward in the late 1960s. A member of the first school board at St. Constance School, Ed contributed his time to the building of both St. Constance Church and School.

Ed will be remembered for his quest for knowledge and deductive reasoning.

He was a devoted father to Tom, Linda (Dickey) and Marilou (Collins); and a loving grandfather to Beth (Alymer), Melissa, Jonathan, Melanie and Emma; and great-grandchildren, Shannon, Cailey, Kelsey and Daniel (Alymer).

In keeping with the wishes of Edwin Latos, the services will be private.

Ellen M. Munyer

 

Ellen M. Munyer, nee Hynes, age 92, of Westmont, formerly of Lombard.    Beloved wife of the late George D. Munyer; loving mother of Renee Gee (Raymond Turffs); devoted grandmother of the late Steve; great-grandmother of Alexis; preceded in death by one sister and six brothers; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Former mother-in-law of the late Rick Gee. Proud to be a member of the Turffs Family.

Memorial Mass Saturday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m. at Christ the King, 1501 S. Main St., Lombard. Mass 10 a.m.  Interment private.

Frank J. Poskocil

 

Frank J. Poskocil, 85, of Lombard, died peacefully July 29, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, daughters Cynthia Bonura (Ken Olinsky) of Miami Springs and Julia (John) Lohrmann of Chicago, and granddaughter Angela Bonura of Atlanta.

Frank graduated from the University of Illinois as a mechanical engineer and spent his career at the research department of NICOR in Warrenville. He was a WWII veteran, an avid tennis player, and a patient Bears fan. Frank also volunteered at the Lombard Historical Society and Sacred Heart parish. He enjoyed the later years of his life residing at Beacon Hill.

Memorial gathering will be held Sunday, Aug. 6, from 2-7 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard.

Doris M. Sundahl

 

Doris M. Sundahl, 88, of Oakbrook Terrace, passed away Saturday, July 29.

Visitation is today, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. until service time 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 545 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is at Chapel Hill West, Oakbrook Terrace. Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home: 630-832-4161.
