Elizabeth L. Gerstner, age 100, of Villa Park, passed away on Dec 4, 2017.

Funeral Mass was Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Steve “Driveway” Hall, age 66, of Lombard, passed away Dec. 4, 2017.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 11, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Lombard. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Gardens West.

Marjorie F. Hernandez

 

Marjorie F. Hernandez, age 95, of Villa Park, passed away on Dec. 8, 2017.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard.

Henry J. Piermattei

 

Henry “Corky” J. Piermattei, 86, of Villa Park. Beloved husband of the late Norine, nee Elwood; loving father of Janice (the late Edward) Francour and Jill (Dan) Casey; dear Nonno of Kevin and Jillian Francour, Colleen (Reed) Wilcox; fond brother of the late Elaine (Nick) Steder; brother-in-law of Kay Skalman; dear uncle of Kaci Steder, Brian (Lisa) Steder, Nick Jr. and Michael Steder, Mary (Jerry) Welle, Michael Skalman, Paul (Anke) Skalman, Diane (Chip) Stovall, Mark (Kim) Skalman and Kevin Skalman; great-uncle of many; special friend of Dan Brink, Lynn Spehn and Mary Quiroz.

Henry moved to Villa Park with his family at the age of 7 and was a lifelong resident, attending St. Alexander’s grade school and York High School. He had a successful career at Harris Bank, where he met and married Norine, the love of his life.

When he later retired from the bank, his love of music and talent became his livelihood. He taught piano lessons to many students of all ages. He was also the choir director at St. Alexander’s parish for 20-plus years. Both of these activities were a great source of pride and happiness for him.

Finally, Henry was a “true blue” Cubs fan and thrilled to watch their World Series win with the family last year!

Memorial Visitation Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at 9 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park. Interment private.
