Deborah M. Cassin

 

Deborah M. Cassin nee Zurek, age 64, of Lombard, beloved wife of Charles J.; loving mother of Rebecca (the late Robert) Lichucki, Charles II (Heather), Heather (Thomas) Opolony, Brian (FiancĂ©, Marina), Joseph (Jacqueline); cherished grandmother of Chase, Nathan and Maddie; dearest sister of Judith (Leo) Cisco, Elizabeth Zurek, Margaret (Patrick) Cichanski and Matthew (Patricia) Zurek.  Aunt, great aunt and cousin of many.

Funeral services to be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. to Sacred Heart Church for 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Queen of Heaven. Visitation today, July 13, 2-8 p.m..

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Catherine of Siena Grade School, 38 N. Austin, Oak Park, IL 60302, are appreciated.

Mrs. Cassin was a resident of Lombard for the past 39 years.  She was the Past President of the Lombard Service League, Boy Scout Troop Leader for Pack 40, Girl Scout Troop Leader for Troop 640, School District 44 P.T.A. Past President, delivered for Meals on Wheels, Volunteer for Easter Seals, Member of Lombard Newcomers, Member of C.E.R.T., Member of Horizon Village Quilters Guild, Member of the Red Hat Society, Proud Mother of 4 Eagle Scouts and “adopted” Mom of many other Eagle Scouts. She loved the beach and loved dogs. Her door was always open to anyone who needed help or just wanted to chat.

Deborah was a graduate of St. Catherine of Siena and a third generation graduate of Trinity High School in River Forest. She received her A.D.N. and R.N. from Triton College.

Mrs. Cassin was a registered nurse of 45 years and loved serving her patients in Lombard, Elmhurst, Berwyn and Glen Ellyn.

Albert J. Didier

 

Albert J. Didier, age 88, of Elmhurst, passed away July 5, 2017.

A Masonic Service was held Monday, July 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, under the auspices of Lombard Lodge 1098 AF& AM. Interment was private.

Lola A. Hennig

 

Lola A. Hennig, nee Myren, age 94, of Markesan, Wisconsin, formerly of Westchester, died July 6.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.

Owen Denis McKeon

 

Owen Denis McKeon, age 84, passed away peacefully at home, July 3, 2017.

Private burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Owen was born in Oak Park to the late Stanley and Mildred McKeon.

Loving brother of the late Betty (Wallace) Weckler, Stan Jr. and Kate (Richard) Richter. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; ex-wife, Nancy Latta-McKeon; children, Ann Marie, Jack (Laurie), Eileen (John) Roche and James. Loving grandfather to Hanora, Philip and Carter James, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Owen attended Loyola University, served in the U.S. Army overseas and settled in Lombard in 1965.

He spent 40 years in the publishing and printing field before retiring in 1999. He served as a local election judge for many years, performed decades of service work and generously gave his time to those in need.

Owen also volunteered his time with the American Cancer Society as a driver for the Road to Recovery Program, which provided cancer patients with transportation to and from treatment.

His family will try and follow his example of helping others.

Virginia Rae Michael

 

Virginia Rae Michael, age 93, of Lombard passed away peacefully surrounded by family July 3, 2017.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St., Lombard, in the chapel.

Virginia is survived by her dearly loved children, Linda Reid, Ross (Susie) and Thomas Michael. Her grandchildren, William (Heide) Reid, Heather (Choukri) Mesli, Joseph (Aimee), Benjamin (Kristen), Jeffery and Daniel Michael and her eight adored great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband George.

Virginia was a lifelong member of the First Church of Lombard and worked for 25 years at the Jewel in Lombard. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed bowling, square dancing and arts and crafts. She will be missed dearly by family and friends and all who were blessed enough to know her.

Pearl G. Ott

 

Pearl G. Ott, 88, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, July 1, at home in Lombard.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth; daughter, Linda Anton; sons, James (Elizabeth) and Dave; a brother, Ralph (Diane) Johnson of Indiana; grandchildren, Laura Anton-McLean, Angela (Matt) Breland, Charles (Nu) Ott, Susan Ott, Elizabeth Ott, Madison Ott; great-grandson, Joseph Lamping; and great-great-grandson, Joseph Lamping; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Viola (Emerich) Johnson; her sister, Ruth Smith; and brother, Everette Johnson.

Pearl was born in 1929 and grew up in Ottawa. She worked for Illinois Bell, Sears and Carson’s over the years.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, July 29, 1:30 p.m., at The Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses, 22W410 Western Ave., Glen Ellyn.

Arlene B. Sterbis, nee Francus, age 78, of Johnsburg, formerly of Lombard, passed away Sunday, July 9.
