Kathleen P. Cannova

 

Kathleen P. Cannova, nee Pinto, age 62, of Oak Brook, passed away Thursday, June 29.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, July 8, from 9 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 254 N. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale. Inurnment will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park.

Raymond Lisching

 

Raymond “Ray” Lisching, formerly of Lombard, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 17. 

Ray was born in Chicago to the late George and Ruth (Sullivan) Lisching on April 21, 1931. He attended Our Lady Help of Christians, St. Phillips High School and DePaul University where he graduated with a degree in accounting. He worked his entire career – 44 years – in the tax division at Sears Roebuck Corporate.

Ray was a sports fanatic. He coached his son Larry’s baseball teams with the Lombard Park District for 10 years. He enjoyed running, racquetball and especially golf. He was a loyal Bears fan and die-hard Cubs fan. He saw his beloved Cubs play in the 1945 World Series and witnessed them win it all in 2016.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. While stationed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he met the love of his life, his wife of 65 years, Laura (nee Perzeproski).

He is survived by Laura along with his children Larry (Mary) Lisching, Carol (Dave) Hamm, Donna Bergman and Eileen (Ray) Redmond; his sister Karen (Ed) Schumann; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Services were held at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard, on July 6. Interment of ashes, with full military honors, will be today, Friday, July 7, 10:30 a.m., at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
