Rey Mendez Borromeo

 

Funeral services for Rey Mendez Borromeo, 62, of Lombard, were held Saturday, June 10, from Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven, Hillside.

Eleanor R. Dove

 

Eleanor R. Dove, nee Eleanor Elizabeth Ray, age 94, a longtime Lombard resident, passed away on October 12, 2016, in Evanston.

A memorial service and interment for Eleanor and John Forbes Dove will be held at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie.

Eleanor is survived by her sons, Robert Dove (Kathleen) of Evanston, and William Dove of Harrison, Arkansas; and her nephews, John Moulding (Robyn) of Walnut Creek, California, and Richard Moulding (Janet) of Northampton, Massachusetts; as well as 6 grandchildren, Laura Dove, William Dove, Jonathan Dove, David Dove, Daniel Dove, Anna Dove; and 16 great-grandchildren. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, John Forbes Dove; her sister, Dr. Mary Ray Moulding; her daughter, Deborah Jean Dove; as well as granddaughter, Karen Dove Cabral; and niece, Nancy Moulding.

Eleanor Elizabeth Ray grew up in Lombard and spent a few years in France. She graduated from Glenbard (West) High School and married John Dove in 1941. They took a bicycle honeymoon trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan. With 3 children, the family took many camping vacations, coast to coast. Eleanor was an at-home mom, and worked part time at Henderson’s Department Store on St. Charles Road. After John retired, the couple embarked on a number of Airstream Trailer Caravans, travelling as far as Panama. They also visited the British Isles. Eleanor was active in the philanthropic organization, PEO, and enjoyed crafts, sewing, painting, and spending time with family.

 

Joshua B. Faillo

 

Joshua B. Faillo, age 46, of Lombard, passed away Monday, June 5.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 13, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lombard.

Eugene E. Jenzen

 

Eugene E. Jenzen, age 86, of Lombard, died June 8 at Beacon Hill, Lombard.

Mr. Jenzen is survived by his wife, Marguerita, nee Zielske; three children, Barbara DiRienzo, Sandra (Jim) Sullivan and David (Julie) Jenzen; eight grandchildren, Tony DiRienzo, Nick (Mara) DiRienzo and Christine (Erik) Petersen, Shannon (Josh) Hedman and Kelli (Doug Rouse, Fiancé) Sullivan, and Michael, Steven, and Kaylee Jenzen; great-grandchildren, Penny and Dexter Hedman; his sister, Darlene (Charles) Wingard; brothers-in-law, Robert (Jackie) Zielske, William (Anita) Zielske and the late Ronald (Maky) Zielske; many nephews and nieces; and many friends.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard.

Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.

Eugene Erwin Jenzen was born on May 15, 1931, in Elmhurst. He was the son of the late Leslie Jenzen and Alice, nee Heinke. His grandparents (Fredrick Heinke and Ella Geils) came to Lombard in the late 1800s and lived on a farm at the corner of Grace and North Avenue (now the Lombard Lagoon).

He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard. Mr. Jenzen was a graduate of grade school at St. John’s, Glenbard West High School and the Illinois Institute of Technology as an electrical engineer.

Gene was a Veteran and served on the Aircraft Carrier Hornet during the Korean War.

He was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, serving as chairman of congregation, financial secretary and elder. Gene’s parents and grandparents were members of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard.

Gene was employed for 45 years at Syntronic Instruments, Inc. of Addison as Electrical Engineer and Vice President of Engineering. His most challenging project was designing a part for the camera that went to the Moon and transmitted pictures back to Earth.

Gene enjoyed gardening, fixing things, anything with regard to engineering and spending time with his grandchildren.

Danielle R. Lavedas

 

Danielle R. Lavedas, age 23, of Lombard, passed away Sunday, June 4.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at Christ the King Church. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery.

Albert Rus, age 86, of Lombard, passed away Sunday, June 11.

Pamela Warns

 

Pamela (Wiere) Warns, of Lombard, died peacefully Wednesday, June 7, 2017, after a long illness.

Pam was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Wiere. She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Wiere, of Lombard; her husband, Michael; and daughters, Mary, Lisa, and Michelle; her future sons-in-law, Yoshi Onodera, of Warlingham, UK, and Chris Behrendt, of Palatine; her sisters, Laurel (Jeff) Barker, of Gig Harbor, Washington, Susan (Tom) Ryan, of Lombard, Liz (Bob) Swanson, of St. Charles, and Marge (Mark) Larson, of Lombard; her cousins Jan (Carl) Schill of Wheaton, and Tom (Maureen) Bacha of Wheaton; and many nieces and nephews and dogs, whom she loved.

Pam was a curator of knowledge and a lifelong learner. One of her favorite accomplishments was helping push a squad car out of a snow bank during a blizzard. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, and thought Addison Russell was the essence of baseball.

A celebration of life service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Villa Park, on June 19 at 7 p.m.
