Blanche R. Darby

 

Blanche R. Darby, 97, Lombard resident of 63 years, passed away on Feb. 16, 2017.

Preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Bramblett Darby. Loving mother of the late Rosemarie Lewis-Snyder, the late Susan Lewis-Behning. Survived by Judith Carrera (John), Deborah Heuer (Todd), Roger (Donna) and LeRoy (Debbie). Grandmother of 18, great-grandmother of 25 and great-great-grandmother of five.

Blanche was an avid Cubs fan. Blanche was a former Lombard Post Office employee.

A memorial will be held at the Glen Ellyn Kingdom Hall where she was a longtime member. A private family memorial will be held.

 

Jerry Don Capps

 

Jerry Don Capps, age 69, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving children, on Feb. 7, 2017.  Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend, Cynthia Capps; Jerry is survived by his loving daughter, Kathryn (Capps) Coconato, his loving sons, David Capps and Jerry (Misty) Capps II; his loving six grandchildren, Kaylyn Capps Jones, Kaylya Capps, Chole Capps, Gracie Capps, Justin Coconato, Vincent Coconato; his fond siblings, Larry Capps, Gary Capps, Deann (Berg) DuFour and the late Paul John Berg; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a member of VFW Post #8322 in Chicago, The Lombard American Legion, The Lombard Moose Lodge, and Mr. Capps was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy until 1966. Jerry then listed into the Army 1st Battalion, 202D Artillery Division. Jerry loved his Westerns, country music, old fast cars; Jerry loved working on cars and racing them. Jerry had a loving and caring heart. His favorite saying “Who Loves You Baby!” will always remain in our hearts.

Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Villa Park VFW, 39 E. St. Charles Road in Villa Park.

Karen Haraldson

 

Karen Haraldson, age 46, of Lombard, passed away Tuesday, February 7th, loving mother to Sarah, beloved sister to Diane (Mike) Dugo, Lee (Jessie) Simmons, and Cyndy (Len) Giese; and dear aunt to several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

For several years, Karen was a cherished pre-school teacher to many local children at Lombard Kindercare centers. 

Memorial service to honor Karen's life will be held on Saturday, March 11th, at First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St., Lombard, at 11:00 a.m.

Elaine R. Pezza

 

Elaine R. Pezza, age 86, of Villa Park, passed away on Thursday, Feb 23.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 28, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Lois M. Szczudlo

 

Lois M. Szczudlo, age 96, formerly of Darien, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Memorial visitation was held Monday, Feb. 27, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Entombment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
