Darlene K. Bunge

 

Darlene K. Bunge, nee Wrobel, age 73, of Oak Brook, formerly of Addison and Aurora, died March 15 at home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 19, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.

Mary Louise Carmody

 

Mary Louise Carmody, nee Picard, age 70, of Lombard, received eternal peace on March 8, 2017. Loving mother of Edward John (E.J.) Carmody.

Mary Lou had a big heart and appreciated the generous support received from friends, family and neighbors.

A private celebration of her life will be held April 15 with interment at a later date.

Marilyn M. Chrisman

 

Marilyn M. Chrisman, age 89, a resident of Lombard for 60 years, passed away peacefully on March 18.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Clark (Renee) Chrisman and Melody (Larry) Mathieu; her cherished grandchildren, Keith, Janelle, Lee, Lance and Malorie; and her dear brother, Harry (Peggy) Halberstadt of Rockford.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; her parents, LaVerne A. and Harry B. Halbertstadt; and her brother, Kenneth Halberstadt.

Marilyn was born on November 24, 1927, in Champaign, and later moved to Rockford. She attended East High School where she was a cheerleader and member of the National Honor Society. After high school, Marilyn attended Patricia Stevens Modeling School, taught ballroom dancing and enjoyed horseback riding.

In 1951, Marilyn married Curtis Chrisman. They settled in Lombard where they started a family. After years of raising a family, Marilyn went back to work as an Executive Secretary and worked for several area firms. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lombard for 60 years. She was active there in many areas including church circles. Marilyn was an active member of the Elmhurst Moose Lodge where she held leadership positions.

She enjoyed vacationing in northern Wisconsin, working in her flower gardens, spending time with her dear friends, and most of all being with her family who she loved so very much.

Albert M. Hansen

 

Albert M. Hansen, age 98, of Lombard, passed away March 15, 2017.

A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, March 22, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard.

Mr. Hansen is survived by his loving children, Albert E. (Diane) of Colorado, Terry (Phyllis) of South Dakota, and Rollin (Cathy) of Roselle; his dear grandchildren, Todd, Macayla, Brian, Carolyn, Christopher (Dawn), Jeremy (Carrie), Justin (Lisa), Melanie; his great-grandchildren, Tatum, Levi, Tanner, Jack, Nora, Aida, Hudson, Jakobi, Tyson; his brother, Norman (Lois) of Arizona; dearest friend of Lillian Lombardi of Twin Lakes, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Hansen is preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Irna; his second wife of five years, June; and his brother, Ray.

Mr. Hansen was born in Chicago. He was a graduate of Calvin Park High School and attended Northwestern University. Mr. Hansen was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in World War II. He was a resident of Lombard from 1942 until 1992.

Mr. Hansen was an Insurance Investigator with Allstate until his retirement. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and was a former Treasurer. Mr. Hansen also worked on the Building Committee at St. John’s. He was a volunteer for the Boys Scouts Troop 57 and was also a member of L.O.O.M. (Loyal Order of the Moose). After his retirement, Mr. Hansen worked for A.A.R.P. as a volunteer in helping Senior Citizens with their taxes.

In his 98 years, Mr. Hansen showed integrity and compassion through daily example. His good nature and ethical compass had a strong influence on his family and they feel fortunate that he was part of their lives for so long a time.
