Norma Jeanne Allen

 

Norma Jeanne (Pries) Allen, 88, of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. 

Norma was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on December 19, 1928, the daughter of Erwin John Pries and Helen (Sanftleben) Pries. She was raised in Oak Park and other western suburbs in the Chicago area. 

Norma married George Allen on August 27, 1949. They were married 52 years and raised five girls and one boy in Lombard. She was a wife, homemaker, volunteer at the hospital and later worked for a Chicago Law Firm. Norma and George moved to the Mississippi Coast for retirement in 1995. She moved to Texas in 2010 to be closer to her “Texas” children.   

She is survived by daughter, Kathy (Skip) Caldwell of Smithville, Texas; daughter, Sue (Mike) Schrader of Lombard; daughter, Bonnie Borkowski of Pine, Colorado; daughter, Judi (Bill) Byrd of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; son, Tim (Donna) Allen of Katy, Texas; and daughter, Nancy (Russ) Williams of Bertram, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and Aunt, Great Aunt, Godmother, cousin and friend to many. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her only sibling, Virginia Katcher; husband, George; son-in-law, Alan Borkowski; grandson, Jeff Caldwell; great-grandson, Dana Thunder Schrader.

Memorial services were held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.    

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N. Jefferson St., La Grange, Texas, or a charity of one’s choice.

Michael R. Campo

 

Michael R. Campo, age 79, Army veteran, of Wheaton, passed away Saturday, March 4.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.    Funeral services will be held on Friday, with Mr. Campo lying in state from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard. Interment will be private.

Jerry Don Capps

 

Jerry Don Capps, age 69, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving children, on February 7, 2017. Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend, Cynthia Capps; Jerry is survived by his loving daughter, Kathryn (Capps) Coconato. His loving sons, David Capps, Jerry (Misty) Capps II. His loving six grandchildren, Kaylyn Capps Jones, Kaylya Capps, Chole Capps, Gracie Capps, Justin Coconato, Vincent Coconato. His fond siblings, Larry (Maureen) Capps, Gary (Sheila) Capps, Deann (Berg) DuFour, Wesley Pittman, Bill Pittman, Vikky (Capps) Lester, Cricket Capps and the late Paul John Berg and Brenda Capps; many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a member of VFW Post #8322 in Chicago, The Lombard American Legion, The Lombard Moose Lodge, and Mr. Capps was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy until 1966, Jerry then listed into the Army 1st Battalion, 202D Artillery Division. Jerry loved his westerns, country music, old fast cars, Jerry loved working on cars and racing them. Jerry had a loving and caring heart. His favorite saying “Who Loves You Baby!” will always remain in our hearts.

Memorial Gathering was held Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Villa Park VFW, 39 E. St. Charles Road in Villa Park.

Austin R. Denz

 

Austin R. Denz, age 19, of Lombard, passed away March 3, 2017.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8, from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at St. Pius X Church. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Austin is survived by his beloved parents, Dennis D. and Kathleen M., nee Murphy; his dear sister, Caitlin; his loving grandparents, Robert and Leona Denz, nee Stausiouski, Elli Denz and JoAnn Murphy, nee Hosler; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his beloved dogs, Diezel and Otto.

Austin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Murphy.

Austin was a 2015 graduate of Willowbrook High School. He was a football player for the Lombard Falcons and the Willowbrook Warriors. Austin was also a part of the wrestling team in high school.

Sotiraz Gjoni, age 95, of Lombard, died Sunday, March 5, at home.

Joann Marie Heyman

 

JoAnn Marie Heyman, nee Horna, age 76, of Lombard, died Monday, Feb. 27, at Lexington Health Care Center, Lombard.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, March 1, at Bohemian National Cemetery, Chicago.

Dolores Jane Jorgensen

 

In loving memory of Dolores Jane Jorgensen, née Venezia. Beloved wife of the late Leif Grant Jorgensen; loving mother of Janet Lee Listwan (Frank), Richard Anthony Jorgensen (Ann) and Gina Ann Batchelder (Jack); proud grandmother of Alissa (Daniel) Listwan-Modrow, Steven (Jessica) Listwan, Brian (Samantha) Listwan, Kathryn (Chris) Jorgensen-Feiler, Meaghan Jorgensen, Elliott Batchelder and Max Batchelder; adoring great-grandmother of Aria and Ryker Modrow; Ramsey, Gemma and Roxanne Listwan, Paxton Listwan, and two blessings to be born later this year; and her only sister, Rosalee Fratantion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Iona Venezia (née Foster).

Dolores loved many things including but most of all her family, friends, good food and her Gardening Angels.  But it was her family was foremost in her thoughts at all times. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were deeply loved and deeply loved her.

She was a great Italian family style cook who made the best lasagna and was happiest hosting big family dinners with plenty of food for all.

She loved plants and flowers. Whenever she saw an empty plot of earth she planted a garden where flowers bloomed at her hand.  She loved to travel and has been all over the USA and the world in an RV and on tour.

We will miss her – her dinners, her gardens and her spirit.

Dolores Jorgensen will be waked from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home in Wheaton, Illinois.    Funeral Mass on Friday, March 10, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Wheaton, Illinois. Bernice T. Maciola

 

Bernice T. Maciola, nee Dzialo, age 97, a 30-year resident of Lombard, passed away March 3, 2017.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to St. Pius X Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Meet at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 2:15 p.m. for 2:30 p.m. Interment.

Mrs. Maciola is survived by her loving daughter, Judith Brockmeyer; her cherished grandchildren, Amy (Jason Greenberg) Brockmeyer and Jonathan; and her dear great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Leo Greenberg; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Maciola was preceded in death by her husband, Adam M.; her brothers, William and Edward Dzialo; and her son-in-law, Ralph Brockmeyer.

Mary L. Thon

 

Mary L. Thon, 70, of Geneseo, formerly of Lombard, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017.

While in Lombard, she was the Director of Trinity Christian Nursery School in Villa Park, and was active at St. Pius X Church.

She is survived by daughters Anne (Justin) Armbruster, Springfield, Illinois, and Amy (Troy) Gutknecht, Bettendorf, IA; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

A funeral service celebrating her life was held on Tuesday, March 7, at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Geneseo.

Memorials may be directed to St. Malachy Catholic Church or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Research Foundation.

 

Jeanette S. Zientara

 

Jeanette S. Zientara, age 93, of Villa Park, passed away on Saturday, March 4.

Funeral services are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, at St. John the Apostle Church, Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
