Gerald Keith

 

Gerald Keith, age 87, passed away Nov. 15.

Beloved husband of Kathleen Keith, nee Kennedy; loving father of Nancy (Jay) Petges; devoted grandfather of Jessica Petges, Amanda Petges, and Crystal (Jamie) Hayes; Fond Brother of Shirly (James) Yep, Mary Ellen Keith, and the late Donald Keith; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proud Member of Operating Engineers Local 130. 

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, IL 60148. Interment Private.

Elvira F. Lindhorst

 

Elvira F. Lindhorst, 93, of Villa Park, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.

Harry James May

 

Harry James May, 90, of Lombard, died peacefully after a brief illness, on Nov. 8, 2017. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan, nee Blackwell. Also by his siblings, Alfred, Lewis and Betty. He is survived by his devoted children, Steven May (Jane), Pamela Schweikle, Susan May and Caroline (Scott). He also leaves grandchildren Christopher, Amy, Meredith, Adam and Steven; and great-grandchildren Maddie, Lindsey, Owen, Andie, Vivien and Claudia. Also surviving is sister, Sonia Stetzer; and sister-in-law, Doreen May. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Vera Bisceglie, and her children.

Harry was born in Surrey, England, in 1926. He met his wife in South Wales after being drafted into the coal mines as a “Bevin Boy." They immigrated to the United States in 1954, settling in Lombard, where he has resided ever since.  Harry owned his own manufacturing business in Addison from 1974 until his retirement in 2014 at age 88.

Donations in his name may be given to the Salvation Army or The Cat Guardians of Lombard. 

A private gathering is to be held at a later date.

 

Gail J. McCarter

 

Gail J. McCarter, age 69, of Lombard, passed away Nov. 13, 2017.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Beatrice L. Plass

 

Beatrice L. Plass, nee Ashdown, age 89, of Lombard, passed away Nov. 16, 2017.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 21, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at Christ the King Church, 1501 S. Main St., Lombard. Entombment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.

Linda M. Schehl

 

Linda M. Schehl, age 63, passed away Nov. 11, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Loving mother of Matthew Schehl, Jamie (Youssoupha) Diatta and Timothy (Tamara) Schehl. Beloved daughter of the late Marilyn and William Lee. Proud grandmother of Laura, Liam, Joseph, Mariama, Gentian and Juniper. Fond great-grandmother of Henry and Leo. Dear sister of Sharon (Jeff), Cindy (Ron) and the late Terry (Sue). Fond aunt of Sarah, Ron Jr., Nick, David and Michael.

Betty Lou Stelter

 

Betty Lou Stelter, age 84, nee Rosenwinkel, of Lombard. Loving wife of the late Henry C., Sr.; loving mother of James E. (Paula) of Villa Park, Christine (Stephen) Smith of Lombard, Catherine (Robert) Bles of Lombard and the late Henry C., Jr.; cherished grandmother of Katie (Brian) Nanak of Chicago, Andrew Smith of Chicago, Chrissy Stelter of Naperville, Daniel J. Stelter of Glen Ellyn and Jake Bles of Lombard; great-grandmother of Claire Nanak and Teddy Nanak of Chicago; sister of the late Gilbert and the late Marvin; sister-in-law of LaVerne Smith of Lombard, Emily Bonette and Audrey (Tony) Cooper of California; many other relatives, nephews and nieces; many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 17, at St. John Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln Ave., Lombard. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.

Betty Lou was raised in Lombard, a graduate of St. John’s Grade School and Glenbard West High School. Betty Lou and Henry built their home in Lombard and lived there from 1954-1987, when they moved to East Troy, Wisconsin. She moved back to Lombard in August 2016. She was an active member of Good Shepherd in East Troy from 1987-2016 and at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Betty Lou was active in the Bible Study at Lexington in Lombard and also volunteered in the office there. She was a member of the Lexington Choir and a former member of the St. John’s Choir.

Michael F. Stephen

 

Michael F. Stephen, 75, of Villa Park, passed away on Nov 16, 2017.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 20, at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Linda Marie Takriti

 

Linda Marie Takriti, 69, of Delphi, formerly of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born on Oct. 28, 1948, in Chicago to the late Mitchell and Isabel (Beaulier) Czerwonka.

Linda was a graduate of Willowbrook High School in Illinois. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Linda had an artistic gift which she expressed in her flower designs and cooking. Linda worked as a floral designer at Phillip's Flowers in Lombard, where she could take nothing and make it look good. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her cucumbers and sour cream and lasagna. Linda loved the "Wizard of Oz" and "It's a Wonderful Life"; they were her all-time favorite movies.

She cherished time spent with her family. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Linda was lovely from the minute you met her.

She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Hayes of Seattle, Washington; son, Marc (Angel) Ernst of Medaryville; her twin sister, Lana Lingenfelter of Cedar Lake; sister, Debbie (Hank) DeParis of Monticello; granddaughter, Coral Hayes; nephew, Kirk (Staci) Lingenfelter of Villa Park; great-niece, Taylor; and a great-nephew, Luke.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Busia Czerwonka.

Memorial services celebrating Linda's life will be at 12:30 p.m. ET, Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Swanson officiating. The funeral home is located at 202 S. Illinois St., Monticello, Indiana.
