James P. Boyle

 

James P. Boyle, age 81, of Lombard, passed away Aug. 31, 2017.

Funeral Services were held Monday, Sept. 4, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Mass at St. Pius X Church.

Mr. Boyle is survived by his beloved wife, Margarete M., nee Kindl; his brothers-in-law, Ubert Kindl of Germany and Georg Kindl of Germany; and six nieces and nephews in Europe.

Mr. Boyle was preceded in death by his brother, John.

Mr. Boyle was born in Scotland. He was a veteran of the British Army. Mr. Boyle and his wife, Margarete, were married 57 years. He was a resident of Lombard for 47 years. Mr. Boyle was a retired computer programmer who worked for Honeywell, as well as other companies. He belonged to the Fichte Rams Soccer Club and was an avid player of the game. Mr. Boyle enjoyed classical music, especially composers Bach and Wagner.

In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.

Dolores J. DeLegge

 

Dolores J. DeLegge, age 87, of Lombard, passed away Aug. 30, 2017.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 6, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Marietta Hirsch

 

Marietta Tornabene Hirsch nee Tornabene, age 70, of Lombard, passed away suddenly Aug. 29, 2017.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 2, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with Rabbi Deborah Hirsch, cousin of Marietta, officiating.

Marietta is survived by her beloved husband, Lee; her loving children, Juliemarie (Dan) Stephens of Lombard and Michael (Katherine) Hirsch of Villa Park; her dear grandchildren, Maxwell, Alexander, Alyssa and Walter; her fond siblings, Elizabeth (Rick) David of Chicago, Margaret (Bill) Hanlon of Pennsylvania, Felica (Joe) Peters of Texas, and Phillip (Debbie) Tornabene of Franklin Park; many nieces and nephews.

Marietta was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Tornabene.

Marietta had been a resident of Lombard since 1979. She was a former Sacred Heart Home and School Associate as well as a former president. Marietta was a former Girl Scout Leader. She loved to crochet for her family. Marietta’s grandchildren meant the world to her.

Alice Kurkowski

 

Alice Martha Kurkowski, nee Korzen, age 90, longtime resident of Lombard.

Cherished wife for 65 years of the late Leonard. Loving mother of Ted (Linda) and Gregory (Michele). Devoted grandmother of Tiffany (Paul), James and Tim. Great-grandmother of Kaisa, Landon and Paul. Dear aunt of Lydia (Jerry) Orzech and Stan Kurkowski. Great-aunt of Jeff, Kevin, Alexander, Derrick, Monica, Todd and Tanya. Preceded by sisters, Mary (Edward) Anderson, Bernice (John) Kubish, Olag Korzen and Genevieve (Stanley) Kurkowski; her brother, Tadeisz Korzen; and her nephew, Norman Kubish.

Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Sept. 2, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard. Interment St. Michael Cemetery, Wheaton.

 Alice was born July 28, 1927. She was a resident of Tabor Hills in Naperville and had been a resident of Lombard for 60 years. Alice had celebrated 65 years of marriage with her late husband, Leonard.

Alice was known for keeping the family together and her culinary skills in hosting holiday celebrations.
