Beverly Helen Neuber

Beverly Helen Neuber, nee Eggers, 87, of Winfield, former longtime resident of Lombard, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2018, in her home.

A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, Feb. 20, at John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln St. Lombard. Interment was at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.

Beverly is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Melden Neuber; and two adored sons, Ricki (Jacqueline) and Randy (Nina). Proud Grandmother of two beautiful Granddaughters, Julia and Elise Neuber. Preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Eggers (Barbara). Aunt of Paul South, Todd Eggers and Barry Eggers.

Bev grew up in Chicago, and was the daughter of Helen and Paul Eggers. She was always an avid ballroom dancer and appeared with the Lawrence Welk dancers. While working at the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company as a switchboard operator, Bev met and married Melden Neuber in 1962.

They lived in Lombard, in the same home, for 28 years, raising their two sons. She devoted her life to her family, never missing a baseball game or any event involving her boys. Always hospitable with an open door policy, often hosting Bears football parties for her sons and their friends, she was "mom" to many.

Bev loved her cat Fluffy; spending time with friends and family; baking; traveling, especially to Las Vegas; attending local festivals; and cheering on the Chicago Bears and her beloved Chicago Cubbies. She was beyond excited when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Bev's greatest joy was spending time with her two Granddaughters Julia and Elise. She was so proud to be a Grandma and loved displaying their artwork and photos for everyone to see.

Everything in Bev's life was based around her strong faith in God and the church. She was an active member at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years and also volunteered at the Lombard Community Senior Center.

Bev will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran, Church, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard, IL 60148.
