Maurice J. Connors

 

Maurice J. Connors, 102, formerly of Villa Park, passed away on Jan. 17, 2018.

Prayers are today, Jan. 25, 9:15 a.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home with 10 a.m. Mass at St. John the Apostle Church.

Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Raymond Wayne Livingston

 

Raymond Wayne Livingston passed away peacefully at age 88 on Dec. 5, 2017, at his home in Walnut Creek, California.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Shissler Livingston.

More than anything in the world, Ray loved spending time with his family. Ray is survived by his three sons: Steven (Dionne), The Woodlands, Texas; Douglas (Ruby), Concord, California; Randall (Sharmila), New Delhi, India; 4 grandchildren: Tori (Nikolas) Keramidas, Brett (Allison), Todd (Anna Lauren) and Safia; and 5 great-grandchildren: Lukas, Connor & Leonidas (Keramidas), and Grace & Emma (Livingston).

Ray was born July 21, 1929, in Elmwood, Illinois. He was the sixth and youngest child of Harry and Ida Livingston, who were farmers near Elmwood.

After graduating from Elmwood High School in 1947, Ray attended the University of Illinois, in Urbana. In 1951 he earned a bachelor’s degree, and later a master’s degree.

Between 1951 and 1953 Ray served in the training division of the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

In 1952, Ray married Barbara, also from Elmwood, Illinois. Ray and Barb moved to the Chicago, Illinois, area, where they raised their family in Lombard.

Ray spent his career as an educator. He worked in District 87 (Glenbard High School District) for 25 years. In 1959, Ray came to District 87 as a social studies teacher and freshman/sophomore basketball and tennis coach at Glenbard West, in Glen Ellyn. He served as Superintendent of the District from 1979 to 1984, when he retired. In between, Ray’s career included serving as the Principal of Glenbard North High School, in Carol Stream, from its opening in 1968 through 1971, and as an assistant superintendent.

After retiring, Ray and Barb spent 25 years in Fort Myers, Florida, where they enjoyed countless rounds of golf at the Hideaway! Ray and Barb always loved to travel together, from the time they took their boys on road trips every summer throughout the United States, to enjoying many cruises and other travel in their retirement.

Ray was loved by his family and many friends, and his smile, laugh, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

 

Catherine Louise Moe

 

Catherine Louise Moe (nee Puffer), age 73, of Crest Hill, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Peoria, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Butte) Puffer.

Formerly of Lombard, Catherine had resided in Crest Hill for the past 17 years. She was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1962. She married Loren W. Moe on June 22, 1968. Catherine was formerly employed by the DuPage County Health Department as an office manager. Catherine thoroughly loved her grandchildren, took great pride participating in their activities and was proud of each and every one.  She enjoyed her flowers, socializing with friends and traveling to new and exciting places.

Surviving is her loving husband of 50 years, Loren W. Moe of Crest Hill; loving mother of Deborah (Gordon) Cameron of Plainfield and David (Erin) Moe of Plainfield; devoted grandmother to Kyle, Ian and Mackenzie Cameron, Connor and Abigail Moe and Quinn Zimmerman; two sisters, Muriel Puffer of Peoria and Carol (Tom) Hopkins of Peoria; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Cheryl Scott, Dan Puffer and Jane Mowbray.

Funeral services for Catherine Louise Moe were held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to Mass at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1711 Burry Circle Dr., Crest Hill. Private interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Marie Molinaro

 

Marie Molinaro, 98, of Villa Park, passed away on Jan. 18, 2018.

Memorial Mass is today, Jan. 25, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Alexander Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park. Interment is private.

Martin F. Patton

 

Martin F. Patton, age 95, of Lombard, passed away Jan. 18, 2018.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 22, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Christ the King Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery.

Charles Wetter

 

Charles Wetter went to heaven on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. He went peacefully and

surrounded with love. He was 67 years old and passed from a massive brain hemorrhage.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories is his wife Patty, nee Halicke. He was her "Charlie Brown" and she was his "Peppermint Patty."

Dear Father to one son Chris and devoted grandfather to Chase and Katelyn of Loves Park.

He was the second son of three born to Job and Vivian Wetter in Chicago. His brother Jim and wife Debbie survive. His brother Robert passed in 2007 and his wife Selma survives along with Aunt Doris, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was a CDL truck driver with over 35 years of experience, most recently with Kings Express. He made friends near and far and would do anything to help anyone, especially make them smile.

He was known locally for his winter snow sculptures of the John Hancock Bldg, a steam locomotive and giant white squirrel, to name a few.
