Russell Bublitz, age 85, of Lombard passed away Dec. 23, 2017.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, with Russ lying in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison St., Lombard. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.

Joyce Griffith

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Lorraine Griffith announces her passing on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at the age of 69 years.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Roger, as well as their children, Caryn and Jeffrey (Gina). Joyce will also be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren, Christian and Ian.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (htlclombard.org) 350 E. Madison St., Lombard.

Florence Ann Owens

 

Florence Ann Owens, nee Horvath, age 84, of Lombard.

Beloved wife of the late Eugene Owens; loving mother of Teresa (Peter) Perkins, Susan (Daniel) Jarzabkowski and Timothy (Linda) Owens; devoted grandmother of Emily (Jordan) Evans, Mary Jarzabkowski, Elizabeth (Jacob) Arnquist, Jessica Owens and Lily Jarzabkowski; dear sister of Joan Kern and Frank Horvath; aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church, 1501 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ the King are appreciated.

Deanna Domler Pierson

 

Deanna Domler Pierson (77). Born in Chicago, to Clayton Josiah Domler and Laura Griffith Domler Oct. 18, 1940. Died Dec. 1, 2017, in Sacramento, California.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roemer (Ray) Stead on whose 15th birthday she was born; and her beloved husband, John Wesley Pierson.  She is survived by her three sons: David Eric Oulela of Escondido, Dean Robert Oulela (Sylvia) of San Antonio, Texas, and Daniel Joseph Oulela (Deanna) of Poway. Sister Linda Jo Peters (Robert) of Terra Haute, Indiana. She grew up in Lombard, graduating from Glenbard (West) High School. She was crowned Lilac Queen in 1958. She worked for Inland Steel before marriage and raising her boys. She married Rev. Wes Pierson in 1984. She was a member of Palomar UU Fellowship where her memorial service will be held on Jan. 6, 2018, at 1 p.m. Officiated by her good friend and minister Rev. Dr. Beth Johnson.

She sang in their choir and with the Treblemakers, played in their orchestra plus was an accompanist for many talented singers and musicians. She was an avid quilter. Her passion for the environment was deeply rooted in her love of nature and worked tirelessly in social action. Her light will be greatly missed. For all those who knew and loved her, they will carry her joy for life in their hearts.
