Gloria J. Hartmanowski, age 75, of Schaumburg, died May 25, 2018. 

A memorial gathering was held Thursday, May 31, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Cemetery, 8851 W. Higgins Road, Chicago.

Thomas Joseph Hinkel

 

Thomas Joseph Hinkel passed away on April 28, 2018. He was born in Chicago, to Marian and Roy Hinkel on March 6, 1947.

He is survived by his wife, Marybeth (Transon); daughter, Karley (Matt) Hujet; sisters, Joanne (Pete) Petrovich, Linda and Mari Gunther; brother, Don (Linda); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Tom enjoyed coaching youth sports, particularly the relationships he made while coaching at Montini Catholic High School. Above all, Tom cherished time spent and long conversations with his many friends.

In place of a service, please take some time to rekindle old friendships and continue strengthening those you already hold dear.

 

Jan Jacobsen

 

Jan Jacobsen, nee Urbanow, age 79, of Lombard, died May 20 at her home.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ed; her beloved children, Jeff of Galena, Daniel (Bernadette) of West Chicago, Chris, Allison (Kevin) Looby of Warrenville, Tim (Stacie) of Normal, Peter (Nicole) of West Chicago, Matt (Kathy) of Arizona, Sarah (Jon) Bryan of Lombard, Kate (Matt) Bialecki of Elmhurst; stepmother of Cheryl (Kirk) Vipond of Waconia, Minnesota, and Brian of Texas; grandmother of Patrick, Bridget, Robert, Jim, Matt, Jake, Molly, Lukas, Ben, Sam, Bekka, Marae, Cody, Tommy, Braden, Audrey, Jack, Brett, Megan, Harper, Cameron, Josslin, Jessica, Georgia, Caden and Drew; dear sister of Mike (Darlene) Keglovitz of Lombard and Suzanne (Tim) Barry of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Jan was preceded in death by her son, Edward W. Jacobsen, Jr.; her grandson, Noah; her granddaughter, Kaylin; and her sister, Joanne.

Services were held Friday, May 25, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln Ave., Lombard. Interment private.

Jan had lived in Lombard since 1962. She retired from the Glenbard East High School Bookstore after 25 years. She retired from St. John’s Church in 2016, where she worked as an administrative assistant. She had been a member of AFSCME #1970.

Jan was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and a Stephen Minister at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Jean A. Omara

 

Jean A. Omara, 91, lifelong resident of Oak Park and most recently of Beacon Hill in Lombard: beloved aunt of Tom (Deborah) Maxwell; loving great-aunt of Kathleen Maxwell; adored cousin of Virginia (Walter) Bell, their children and grandchildren, and Susan (Richard) Conrad; dear daughter of the late Tom and the late Berdena Omara; cherished sister of the late Marjorie (the late Bob) Maxwell.

Jean was a retired employee of Booz Allen Hamilton.
