Madelynn Barker

Madelynn Barker, nee McGibbon, 70, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Kindred Hospital in Northlake.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.
Mrs. Barker is survived by her husband, William R.; children, Robin (Jeffrey) Bolton, Sandra (Eric) Hohenstein and Edward (Heather); four grandchildren; brother, Donald (Katherine) McGibbon; and one niece and one nephew.
Mrs. Barker was a resident of Lombard for 47 years. She had retired from the Lombard Park District in 1996, where she had worked as an accountant. She had worked at Henderson’s Department Store and Long’s Department Store in Lombard, and had also worked for Dr. Gavin, D.D.S., on Main Street in Lombard.
Mrs. Barker was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard for 47 years, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and Stephen Ministries. She was an avid Cubs fan, and enjoyed reading and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Memorials to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church General Fund, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Shirley Beck


Shirley M. Beck, nee Kneifel-Saraceno, of Wheaton, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
Mrs. Beck is survived by her daughters, Julie Saraceno and Linda (Don Koros) Saraceno; two grandchildren; and was an aunt, great-aunt and sister-in-law of many. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph A. and Ronald Beck; and brother, Robert (Ruth) Kneifel.

Fred Beaumont


Fred Beaumont, 97, of Villa Park, died Monday, Sept. 22.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 25, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Beaumont is survived by his children, Mary Theresa (Thomas) James, Frances (Thomas) Cleary and Joseph; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Theresa Meer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M.; and son, Frederick (Josefina).
Mr. Beaumont was retired after working as a supervisor for the Village of Oak Park.
Memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Mildred Davis


Mildred C. Davis, nee Bjone, 87, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 22, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 26, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Christine M. Esposito of Villa Park; four grandchildren; brother, Chris Bjone; two nephews; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Sturms. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J.
Mrs. Davis was a resident of Lombard since 1957, and had retired after working as an office manager for J.W. Reedy in Lombard. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lombard, a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a longtime member of Glass Courts in Lombard.

Marcella Hachmeister


Marcella K. Hachmeister, 87, formerly of Hillside, died Monday, Sept. 22, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 26, at St. Domitilla Church in Hillside. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Hachmeister is survived by her children, Robert (Mary Claire), Dale Marie (Douglas) Munson and Mark (Mari); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Elsa) Kosinski and Leona (Walter) Kwasney; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; grandchildren, Todd Kouba and Tiffany Hachmeister; and brother, Lawrence (Val) Kosinski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Ann Marie Pepe


Ann Marie Pepe, nee Spiezia, 83, of York Center (Lombard), died Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 27, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Entombment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mrs. Pepe is survived by her children, Sam (Judy) and Juliann; three grandchildren; and sister, Lucille (Ralph) Tricarico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Alex; and brothers, Fred (Marie) and Alexander Spiezia.
Mrs. Pepe had worked as a receiving clerk.

Elizabeth Roche


Elizabeth F. “Elsie” Roche, 90, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Lombard, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Centegra Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Roche is survived by her son, Thomas J. (Marilyn); two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and sister, Stella (Joseph) Link.
Mrs. Roche was a former longtime resident of Lombard and had worked for Sears as an administrative cashier.

Frank Wischler


Frank J. Wischler, 79, died Thursday, Sept. 25.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; children, Janet (Keith) Palmer, Lynn (Bill) Lobianco-Wischler and Frank John; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Jessica.
