Albert Biliskis


Dr. Albert Biliskis, 89, of Villa Park, died Monday, Oct. 20, in Sarasota, Fla.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday, Nov. 24, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sarasota.
Dr. Biliskis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; sons, Thomas and William (Lynne); two grandchildren; and many friends and former patients.
Dr. Biliskis had been a lifelong resident of Villa Park. He was a physician in Elmhurst and Lombard.

Richard Burgess


Richard H. Burgess, of Sycamore, died Friday, Aug. 15, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife, Charlotte; and daughter, Kate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Newton and Henry Burgess.
Mr. Burgess was a former resident of Villa Park for 25 years. He was a graduate of Morris High School and DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
Mr. Burgess spent his working years in investments, and at the time of his retirement, was a compliance officer at Terra Financial Companies Ltd. He was a member of Rotary International, where he was honored with the title of Paul Harris Fellow; was active in singing through various choirs, theaters and barbershop organizations; and was a continuous supporter of animal rescue and preservation.

Eleanor Ellefsen


Eleanor M. Ellefsen, nee Hossman, 79, of Hanover Park, formerly of Bellwood, died Friday, Oct. 24, at Alden of Waterford in Aurora.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Ellefsen is survived by her sons, Scott (Toni) and Robin (Janis), formerly of Lombard; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Ellefsen was a resident of Hanover Park since 1990, and had retired in 1989 after working as a dispatcher with Ryder Trucking in Franklin Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, would be appreciated.

Dorothy Lemley


Dorothy J. Lemley, nee Walker, 80, of Lombard, died Saturday, Oct. 25, at ManorCare in Naperville.
Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 29, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Lemley is survived by her children, Stuart Standish, Lydia (Leonard “Dick”) Welch, David Weidel and Mary (Michael) Watt; stepchildren, Gary (Pamela) Lemley of Lombard and Linda Hubbard; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Gloria), Dayle Gruetzmacher and Doris Maddox; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard C. Lemley, Robert W. Weidel and Stuart Standish; and brother-in-law, Amber Gruetzmacher.
Mrs. Lemley was a lifelong resident of Lombard. She had worked for Meyer, Meyer and Albers as a medical records clerk for many years, and was a member of the Lombard Senior Choir.

Judi Ludwig


Judi “Bubbi” Ludwig, nee Hahne, 66, of Lombard, died suddenly, Sunday, Oct. 26, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be today, Oct. 29, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Assumption Cemetery.
Mrs. Ludwig is survived by her husband of 48 years, G. Ross; children, Greg (Georgie, DVM) of Lombard, Amy (Mike) Pecoraro of Lombard, Missy (Bob) Cardott of Lombard, Mandy (Bill) Sarles of Lombard and Drew (Carmel); 18 grandchildren; mother, Marie Helen Hahne; brothers, Keith (Denise) Hahne and Willy (John) Beach; sisters, Debbie (Jim) Hoffman and Denise (Jay) Svehla; 12 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her son, Chris; and father, Harold Hahne.
Mrs. Ludwig was a lifelong resident of Lombard. She had attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Marmion High School, and was a 1960 graduate of Glenbard West High School. She had retired as the transportation director at Ray Graham Association, and had done the scheduling for Lombard Baseball League for 15 years. She was a third generation Lombard resident and was very active with her family.

James McCarthy


James B. McCarthy, 88, of Carol Stream, formerly of Elk Grove Village and Elmhurst, died Sunday, Oct. 26, at Wynscape in Carol Stream.
A memorial gathering and Mass will be held Friday, Oct. 31, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park.
Mr. McCarthy is survived by his sons, Michael T. (Gail), Kevin (Patty), James (Jackie) and Robert; four grandchildren; sister, Mary (Frank) Andrews; sister-in-law, Joan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle “Ann”; and brothers, John (the late Angie), Joseph (the late Margaret) and David.
Mr. McCarthy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had retired from Western Electric in Cicero after over 40 years. He was an avid golfer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631, would be appreciated.

Catherine Weisenburger


Catherine “Kay” Weisenburger, 78, of Lombard, died Thursday, Oct. 23, at Rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 25, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. James Dvorsak officiating. Interment was private.
Mrs. Weisenburger is survived by her children, Marc (the late Carolyn), Wally (Rita) and Joe (Suzie); and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; and daughter, Carolyn.
Mrs. Weisenburger had worked for over 20 years as parish secretary for Christ the King Catholic Church.
Memorials to Montini High School would be appreciated.

Gregory Yangas


Gregory J. Yangas, 62, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Claire Oak Assisi Health Center in Bartlett.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Yangas is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Dan (Claudia) of Lombard and Rich (Mary); six grandchildren; brother, Leonard P. (Barbara); four nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Ralph and Phyllis Piaskowski. He was preceded in death by his parents, George P. and Marie of Lombard; and nephew, David Yangas.
Mr. Yangas was a resident of Lombard for 55 years. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School, St. Francis High School and Glenbard East High School. He was co-owner with his son Richard of Partners Resource in Lombard for the past 10 years, was former vice president of Misco-Shawnee in Elk Grove for 10 years, worked for nine years with J.P. Stevens in Chicago, worked for five years with US Industries in Chicago, worked for Plunkett Furniture in Lombard from 1967-72, and worked at Park Avenue Floor Covering in Lombard. He had delivered for Bona Pizza when he was in high school.
Mr. Yangas was an avid Cruise Nights participant with his 1964 Buick Electra, 1973 Buick Riviera boattail and 1975 Pontiac Grandville convertibles. He served as a village trustee in Lombard from 1976-80; and was a longtime member of the Lombard Jaycees, where he held various offices and had served for a long time as co-chairman of the haunted house committee—he was a skillful designer of the haunted houses.
