I was wondering if anyone knew of a site you can go to, to find out about the salaries of College of DuPage administrators and teachers. I know we can find the elementary, middle and high school teachers, but we do help pay the salaries of COD administrators and teachers, and I just wondered how we can find out about the salaries of these individuals. Thank you.

The City of Chicago is asking everybody for feedback how to correct traffic problems. Well, that’s no problem. Automobiles cost too much; they cost what homes used to cost. And lots of buying taxes. The insurance is too costly. The gasoline is too costly and never coming down—Barack Obama’s not doing anything about that. The repairs are too costly, replacement costs and parts, and then when you want to park, that’s ridiculously high. And then for the pleasure of driving your car, the state taxes and charges over $100 for a sticker just to drive your car. And villages want taxes. We have the right-of-way available to put in the Aurora-Elgin electric train back. That way we don’t have to buy oil or gasoline. Electric train. There are more people along that route who could use it, and get the cars off the highways.

Hi, Lombard. I find this very funny: Anybody who disagrees with some of these people in SPEAK OUT is automatically a Fox News minion. Why cannot other people have an opinion? Does everybody who disagrees with these people keep calling in saying it’s because of Fox News, you people are getting the wrong information? Look, I don’t believe Fox News, I don’t believe CNN, I don’t believe MSNBC or any other news channel. It’s all in how they present it. Just because I don’t agree with your philosophy doesn’t mean I’m a Fox News minion. People are entitled to their own opinion, whether they believe in global warming or not. You people who can’t take criticism, get over it.

Airplane fares have skyrocketed, yet airline employees, including retired employees, are given a benefit for themselves and immediate family members and also one other person they so choose to fly stand-by free of charge. An active employee being given a benefit to fly free is one thing, and it seems there should be a limit to that, but to extend the benefit to all of their immediate family members and one other person they choose seems over the top. So many people are struggling financially while active and retired employees, their families and a friend are flying free of charge. This feels unfair to the public, who are forced to pay outrageous prices.

I am speaking out. Why do we need police departments, stop signs, street lights or anything other than that in the towns of Villa Park and Lombard? Nobody obeys the laws, nobody stops at the stop sign, nobody stops anymore in the yellow or they blow a red light. I see no presence of Villa Park or Lombard police anywhere anymore. Why do we pay taxpayer dollars for things like this when nothing is enforced any longer? We should just do away with the police, the stop signs and all of our street lights because nobody respects the laws in these towns anymore. Thank you.

For the last three or four weeks I’ve been reading nothing but arguments and complaints for or against the post office, mainly against. I’d like to give all those people a little bit of news. Why don’t you just have your bills paid and delivered online? If you have your bills delivered or paid online, you have no real need for the post office. Everything else is nothing but a bunch of junk. So, to all you people, once again, get your statements online, pay your bills online and don’t worry about the post office. Thank you very much.

Hello, Lombard. This is a resident and small-business owner making comments regarding our mail service. I’m sorry, I understand there are some postal people, or delivery people, who have had some difficulties, but unfortunately, we are still not receiving our mail, even at the P.O. box, on a regular basis and we sometimes have over 20 packages sitting for mail to go out and they don’t come to pick it up. When we do call to say please come get our mail, they are wondering how many packages we have and if it’s worth their while to drive out and pick them up. So I think you’re going to find out the situation with the post office is going to continue, even when the weather is cleared up and it’s a beautiful 72 degrees. I think the situation is really deep inside the post office and there’s some kind of attitude over there that needs to be addressed. Thank you.

This is Villa Park calling. I read in the Feb. 5 issue of SPEAK OUT where the couple went into the police station and said there was a stranger walking around their neighborhood and they didn’t get anything from the village police department. Well, for the past year or two years, it seems the police department is really getting bad. Just like the village hall, everything else is getting bad. They said there are no gangs, they said there are no break ins, the Villa Park Police Blotter is getting really small; guess what? Welcome to Villa Park where your tax dollars are wasted and the police department just doesn’t seem to care. I say we fire everybody in the police department and start over again. Same thing with the village hall, public works and everybody else. Last year they did seal-coating on South Wisconsin Avenue and they didn’t even clean the leaves off the streets. They just put the seal-coating right on top of the leaves on the streets. Welcome to Villa Park.

Pot holes, pot holes, pot holes. Everyone’s complaining about pot holes. It isn’t the weather so much; it’s the quality of material, and the politicians get the biggest donors from the companies that do that kind of work seemingly are the companies that get the job, not the ones that do the best job. If you’re the best donor, it seems you get the contract and we poor taxpaying souls pay the price. Follow the money, ladies and gentlemen. That’s where the problem always is. Goodbye.

Just signed my family up for the Affordable Care Act, saving us $200 a month and now I even have a lower yearly deductible and out of pocket. That’s a lot of groceries; I encourage everyone to do so because there are only a couple weeks left to sign up. Just Google Get Covered Illinois.

It’s easier to find the missing jet than to find truth in Obama’s words.

Lombard calling. I have recently learned a World War II veteran will be on a future Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., to visit the World War II memorial. This is the memorial that was apparently closed out of spite by Obama this last year. This veteran is fortunate to be able to see the memorial as I was in 2011. I have in all my years under a dozen or more presidents never seen such a spiteful attitude against the people. You reward your friends and punish your enemies, so I guess that’s how he sees people like us. Thank you.

For all those applying for Obamacare, beware. What they haven’t mentioned, and I read just by chance, is that the so-called tax credit is not really a subsidy at all. If you get X amount a month to help pay for your insurance, apparently you may be forced to declare that as income at the end of the year, or X times 12 months. That may push someone into the next tax bracket. That was never mentioned in the ads on TV, radio and Internet. Also, after checking the options available in DuPage County, it was pathetic. One company dominating with its many plans, while another top company has nothing. The choices are pretty slim—and if you don’t qualify for a subsidy, expensive. So much for the Affordable Care Act.

You know, I hope it turns out that that plane landed and everybody’s all right, but I’ve got to tell you. CNN and MSNBC have hit an all-time low. Now CNN is reporting that maybe the plane is in a black hole in the outer atmosphere; and MSNBC and CNN are reporting there must be another Bermuda Triangle. Come on, people, grow up.

This is Lombard again calling about the mail. Actually I got the mail returned to sender, does not live there, so the mail that was trying to be delivered was returned to creditors, magazines saying I did no live here. Thank you.

Hello, Lombard calling. Wanted to say thank you Sphinx Computers. I recommend everyone go there. I just needed a new adapter when I went there. He saw I had gotten my last one there so he gave me a discount. I’ve always been very happy with their work. Thank you. Goodbye.

I was on my way to vote knowing exactly who I was going to vote for in the primary, and the candidate had so many what I call snipe signs out, signs on property that have no buildings on them, in a right-of-way and illegally placed, I completely changed who I was voting for. I voted for the opponent. I hope these people pick up their signs. As soon after the election as possible would be nice.

Hi. I was calling to find out who is responsible for the pot holes at Meadow and Route 53. They’ve been there for years going both ways, both eastbound and westbound on the corner. They’re very dangerous and I would like to know who I can contact to get those repaired. Thank you.

Lombard here. I see the Communist in the White House is giving the Internet to all our enemies. What a great Commie he turned out to be. Goodbye.

It’s March 14. This is a reminder to all the Villa Park residents. Flooding time is coming. Make sure you have your generators; make sure you have your canoes, because we live in Villa Park, where the trustees, the president and our police department seemingly don’t care. So, make sure you have everything in order for the flooding this year. Way to go, Villa Park, yet again.

I live in unincorporated Villa Park and I’m disputing an incorporated Villa Park truck company; they’re running diesel trucks and I can’t seem to get any cooperation. I’m looking for help. Thank you, bye.

Hi, this is Villa Park calling. Today is March 14 and I was in the McDonald’s drive-through today at St. Charles and Villa and the kind lady in front of me purchased my lunch for me. She didn’t even buy her own lunch. It was such a kind gesture and I just hope she’s reading this so she can know how much I appreciated it. I wall also be doing this in return because this nice gesture has made my day. Thank you for being so kind. Bye bye.

The American people have shown they overwhelmingly reject Obamacare and I believe they don’t want it replaced with Republicancare. We want the government out of the health care business, since they have no right to force health care on anybody.

* * *

A wonderful idea. All of the oversized top-quality campaign postcards make great disposable dust pans. Talk about recycling.

* * *

This is Lombard calling. To all my fellow conservative Republican friends: In Webster’s Dictionary, the word “conservative,” you’ll find two words—traditional values. Just be proud of who we are and don’t let others get the best of you. If people would only sign their name, maybe friends or family could call them to let them know how ridiculous they really sound. To Mr. and Mrs. Democrat, how’s that change working out for you? Thanks.

* * *

This is Lombard calling. Somebody called in to SPEAK OUT and said the Republicans in Arizona were at it again, that they wanted to discriminate and pass a law. We have such uninformed, low-informed and misinformed voters. That law they crafted was an identical law to a federal law that was already on the books. It was not a law to discriminate against gays. The law was crafted to not discriminate against people’s religious freedoms. That’s what the law was about. It had nothing to do with gays or restaurants. Once again, this is why we’re bankrupt. This is why we’re doomed. This person is obviously uninformed. Thank you.

Lombard here. I happened to be in Wisconsin last week, near the Dells. There were 20 stations to watch; only one news station, Fox News, owned by billionaire Rupert Murdoch. I was readily reminded why I don’t watch Fox News. They were having a debate about the minimum wage and overtime pay. Not one of the five or six handsomely paid commentators was arguing in favor of a higher minimum wage or overtime pay. Instead, they espoused the same old tired conservative views on labor and the economy. Not so fair and balanced, just propaganda. Rupert Murdoch has expanded his empire while the working class struggles to get by. How? By positioning his brand of news to be the only game in rural and small-town markets. Not fair and balanced at all.

I went and voted today and you have to declare which party you are for, Republican or Democrat, which I think is illegal because it’s supposed to be a secret vote. One lady told me that one or two people left my voting precinct not being able to vote because they wanted a secret ballot and they couldn’t do it because they have to vote Republican or Democrat; there are different sheets instead of having all the candidates on one sheet like it used to be. You should not have to declare in front of election judges what party you are for. People wonder why the voter turnout has become lower. First off, there are no viable candidates and now you have to declare in front of people what party you are voting for. That is not right. That needs to be stopped.

In July 2010, Gov. Pat Quinn acted on legislation to encourage citizens to participate in the voting process; he wanted to eliminate the requirement of declaring party affiliation in the primaries. That was House Bill 4842, and a little digging indicated that no action was taken and the bill was declared “dead” in November 2010. –JAC

According to our Constitution, we have three co-equal branches of government. Obama, by his own admission, has gone around Congress to make laws, to change laws as he sees fit. If you don’t know it by now, you first have your first dictator. Impeach him now.
